Can I flash full firmware May-2014 to my Zero with October-2013 firmware without any issues with v0.3 CD only?
I will want to wipe all data. Will be a data full wipe?

If you choose the "full flash" option, yes.

Hey all,  Firstly thanks for this disc.  I just received my kick-starter zero and It was booting to the hardware test screen.  This disc has made it much easier for me to get started.

Just one thing...  When I first started it up, out of the box, it was booting to the test screen, but the green power LED was working.  Since flashing it the green light never comes on, either to signal power, or wifi connection.  The red one comes on when it's charging tho.  Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks :)

I have a prototype GCW-Zero with 256Mb of ram. For a long time I was stuck to September 2013 firmware because for some reason all update .opks failed after being run and got corrupt. After some tries I managed to get up to anti-corrupt update (gcw0-anti-corruption-update-2014-05-05.opk) but the next update (gcw0-update-2014-05-05-take2.opk) finally bricked the handheld (constant yellow screen).

And here came The Rescue CD which saved the day. Note that I used it from VirtualBox 4.3 and it worked like a charm.

I was able to reflash my prototype GCW Zero with this utility, thanks. I used my Mac Air to do it.

My disk wont allow me to select anything other than retail unit and system partition. Stupid question: since the enter button wont select the different option, what button will?

Space. I believe Enter will select only buttons.

Cheers for this rescue disc pcercuei!

Some of my Zero was a little borked after the latest update and some of the changes so I really needed to reflash it up and this did it perfect after I flashed the second time (full flash)

Just tried this out with "Linux Live USB Creator" for Windows and worked fine, It doesn't recognize the distro (as it shouldn't) and uses the default settings but had no problem!

Just wanted to list my thanks here too - managed to get my GCW functioning properly, and realise that I've got MORE than 2GB's worth of SD space.

Thanks for the program! :D

Yeah, it (gmenu2x) shows how much space is left, not how much space is used.

Yea that was Lash's problem :P he had something like 1756MB / 1993MB or something like that rather than the normal xxGB/14.5GB :P

Some mess up when they flashed it in the factory I expect :P

It would be useful to have a new Rescue Disc release (v0.4) which can directly flash the latest OpenDingux release (2014-08-20).
