JzIntellivision, an updated Intellivision emulator

Thanks to Qbertaddict for the video!

Here's a re-porting of JzIntellivision. The previous version was based on older code and had a number of issues with some games not working. I have not used any code apart from the original source code. All source code is included in this release.

This version is based on a recent SVN snapshot provided by the author Joe Zbiciak. I have added code to change the control mapping, fix many broken games, support for custom-made overlays and various menu options. The control configuration can be accessed from the menu (press SELECT at any time to access the menu).

You will need at least 2 bios files, "grom.bin" and "exec.bin" for the emulator to work. Some games also require additional bios files, please read the manual included for more information.

Unique to this release is the support for custom designed overlays. Gab1975 has been hard at work designing a impressive number already. To use simply unzip the file in $HOME/.jzintellivision/overlays folder. To create your own just follow the instructions in the manual or overlay pack below.

Thanks to Gab1975 for the overlays, menu background, playtesting and bug reporting, thanks to Ker and Ghaleon for playtesting and bug reporting.

Enjoy!

Maybe is there an "unperceivable" connection to the ZeroX86 compatibility list !? :P

In this case it should not be necessary... as far as I know, the only "commercial game" that doesn't work is "World Series Major League Baseball" ! ;)

Glad to hear it, please also try Gab1975's overlay pack as well, it really adds atmosphere and properly labels the keys.

I've spent quite some time during testing playing Beauty and the Beast, also Demon Attack, B-17 Bomber (love the speech!), Astrosmash, Congo Bongo, Bump 'N Jump, AD&D, Atlantis, Beam Rider, Carnival, Burgertime and TRON-Deadly Discs.

Many Thanks for This emu, David Knight. The Intellivision was one of the few consoles not emulated well on the GP2X so it is very nice to have it on GCW-Zero.

Is it 60fps fullspeed emulator with flawless sound?

I've run the program but I cannot find a bios folder.
In fact I don't see a $Home folder anywhere.
I tried making a .jzintellivision folder containing a bios folder in the home folder where m other ROM folders are but it didn't work.
I'm using GCW 0 Manager.
Can anyone walk me through to the right Home folder?

The $HOME folder (/usr/local/home/) is an OS fundamental directory (where are put the applications config files)... you don't need to create anything manually.

Make sure your device has got the latest firmware release: http://www.gcw-zero.com/updates

PS: you can try to use Filezilla as FTP client... set the "transfer type" to  "binary" (Transfer menu) and activate "force showing hidden files" (Server menu).

The corrrect directory structure is automatically created for you, you just need to find it ;)
The path you are looking for is /usr/local/home/.jzintellivision/bios. The app is hard coded to only look there for the bios.
The GCW0 manager file manager starts you from the /usr/local/home so just find the folder labelled ".jzintellivision".

Remember, if it's not working check the log output file, it will tell you what went wrong.
If you're not sure how to interpret it post it here.
