Its a great idea few things would make this even cooler..

1) Folder management internal and external (create new folders, rename ect...)
2) Install Opk's to external as well as internal
3) Rom and data file transfer internal/external
4) A nice desktop icon ;D
5) Themes (not so important)

Just a few idea's that I'm sure have been thought of

Thanks for the app Harteex

If there are some opportunities to use language files at some point, I'll gladly offer to translate the needed assets to french, which may help users who are not that good in english.

+1 I may help with Russian (my English is far from perfect, but my native language is much better & I have some experience in translation.)

I think this software may have bricked my GCW upon trying to install some emulators. I hope this has worked well for others and I regret having to leave this community so soon, but I don't have a console to help test things out with anymore. Best of luck to the creator of this manager and any future work you put into this already nice looking piece of software and of course the entire GCW-Zero community. Losing me wasn't much of a loss anyway. :P

Guess I can literally crack open my unit and see its innards considering it also came with a stripped screw I can't remove properly.

You can't brick a GCW, this is impossible by design.
Can you describe how it stopped working?
Does it boot (shows the booting logs) and then stops at a black screen? Does it show an error during the boot process? Etc.

It's simply on a black screen and since the green LED is on I assume the unit is receiving power and I can't power it off.

When you power on your device, is it instantly black screen, or can you see the boot log (white letters on a black background)?
If it instantly stops at a black screen this means either the bootloader or the kernel file/kernel partition is damaged. This couldn't be directly caused by the GCW Zero Manager however, as FTP has no access to the kernel partition.

Please use the reset hole at the lower side of the device to reboot the GCW Zero, and at the same time hold the X button pressed. This will attempt to boot a backup kernel (if it's present).
If still nothing happens, you will need to manually flash the internal SD card: http://www.gcw-zero.com/flashing

The reset worked. Thanks for all the help. Now I'm enjoying some good ol' Oracle of Ages, but still wish I could do something about that stripped screw.

Thanks for the suggestions and translation offers, I'll keep them in mind for the next version :)

Just ftp into it and delete the last .opk's you put on there I bet it comes back on  ;D

You could also simply uninstall OPKs in the mananger ;)

That shouldn't take place on retail firmware. It was a bug in very outdated firmware that nobody except for the "frankenzero" and early SE owners could have.

what happens about this utility? is there going to be some update?
On Manage software list, I'd like to see a program version column too and also sorting by size doesnt work properly...

Yea, an update is the plan, but I've been busy with other projects lately.
Will look into this soon hopefully.

Didn't know about the size thing, will look into that. Regarding program version column, that might be a problem, as this information is not available in the OPK metadata.
