I really enjoyed playing all the old dosgames on this, I really hope you can fix it!
Could you implement better key movement on the virtual keyboard, like dingux commander, so that you can hold a direction on the dpad to move between characters on the keyboard instead of having to constantly tap the dpad to get from 1 side of the keyboard to the other.(my finger hurts!)
Also could we have a shortcut key (r trigger) to switch between joystick and mouse like dcastaway?
Amazing port so far! keep up the good work!

@d_smagin: have you considered a semitransparent keyboard? And I have all of my dos.exe games zipped. Am I S.O.L. or can it be made so zip files be explored? Or would it be problematic since (as is the case with all my files) they contain two .exe's. One for the install.exe and one for the game.exe.

Semi-transparency is expensive to compute without hardware acceleration. It would severely impact the framerate of games.
There is a transparent keyboard option however, just press Y while in on-screen-keyboard mode.

I've tried semi-transparency, it slows down the framerate considerably, that's why fully transparent version is implemented.
Zips are not supported.
And it seems that install.exe would not work, you must use already installed games. That's because with file-browser no disk C is mounted and installer simply will not find any disks.
The alternative is to edit ~/.dosbox/dosbox-SVN.conf and to add all mounting commands to the end of it (see dosbox manuals for this).

d_smagin, have you tried semi-transparency by loading a PNG file with SDL?

PNG images have alpha channel, so you could switch between a nontransparent keyboard image and a semitransparent keyboard image.

I have same problem as segakiki, dosbox doesn't work anymore.
I have figured out what was causing the problem!
Gmenu was remembering all the folders I had opened causing dosbox to segfault and not work.
To fix it all I done was go to the dosbox icon and press select then click on edit dosbox.
click on the selector directory, then keep pressing b to go up a folder until you get back to your root directory.
Find your dos games folder and then press start to save.
All working again!
It does segfault again after i have played around 7/8 games.
just repeat the folder trick to get it working again! no need to reformat your sd.
Definitely a bug with the gmenu selector and dosbox for me.

Unfortunately, I can't really do much in DOSbox yet without any mouse emulation.

I've been using MouseInJoy for some mouse support, is there a way to remap the keys? I could use a click function or something. I mean, I just can't get past the menus for most games thanks to no mouse1 button.

Princess Maker 2 works! Pity the squished text is so hard to read...

It actually loads faster and runs smoother than on my PC. And I'm getting music out with the sound driver set to Sound Blaster, although MIDI doesn't work. This is the opposite of how I got it working on PC (MIDI (MT-32) or GENERAL MIDI (GM) only, no sound with Sound Blaster).

Is Princess Maker 2 playable without a mouse?

The virtual mouse now works with the last firmware 13/09/2013.

Gcw OpenDingux update 2013-09-13 added *.com and *.bat to mime library, so DosBox is updated accordingly (check first post for download).

Which DOS game uses F11/F12 ? Point me at one.

In Princess Maker 2, F12 is used to access the Beta Shop (debug mode). However, it can also be accessed by editing the .ini file, so it's no big deal.

Is Princess Maker 2 playable without a mouse?

No. Some menus don't have a "Cancel" button, you need to right-click to go back.

Barbarian uses all of the F keys, and no others. It's an odd but super fun game. Cannot play it on GCW that is for sure.

This app is amazing thank you so much!

How do you get the mouse working? I'm using the Sept update and the DOSBox from the repository, but i cannot move the mouse in space quest and mystic towers. How do I quit some games without a mouse?

Press power + B to activate mouse mode. Same combination to disable it afterwards.

Thanks Zear. BTW, is there an interface for developers to toggle these capabilities?

AFAIK no. The user needs to manually switch it on/off. But maybe pcercuei, the author of the power switch daemon which the mouse mode is part of, could shed more light into it.

It would be helpful for games that are always using mouse to just have it toggled on at load and off at exit.
