RTC always wrong; yes, I have the latest firmware
« on: June 20, 2020, 02:17:12 pm »
I recently got a used gcw zero and I don't understand what is going on with the RTC:

I have created the link to a city in my timezone (New_York) as described at the official site:

http://www.gcw-zero.com/updates

But when I turn on wireless,  the time is set to GMT.

After I shut down and restart, the time is always corrupted to some random date/time between 1970 and the present.  Often, but not always, it picks Jan 1970.  Turning on Wifi sets date correctly, but the time is GMT even though my timezone is New_York.

This isn't a big deal except for some GBC/GBA Pokemon games where you need to know the time/day to do events like bug catching in the national park.

Update the firmware before doing anything.
