Linux code on boot up
« on: April 11, 2019, 07:47:40 pm »
When I switch my GCW Zero on, it boots up with some linux code before the start up screen.

Why does this happen and how can I prevent it?

It is just the verbose output from the startup sequence.

I think you must be using an older version of the firmware, as the current one defaults to a splash-screen instead.

So it must be an early kickstarter unit without any firmware updates?

Indeed.

Have a look at the Support section on the website below to find out about how to flash the firmware, along with the firmware itself.

It's possible that you may actually own a GCW0 prototype with only 256MB of DDR2 RAM (as opposed to 512MB RAM).
But i thought the kickstarter units were all using 512MB so no idea...

Worst case, you can force flash the firmware but you'll need a linux distro for that.
