Analog sitck malfunctioning
« on: January 02, 2014, 12:22:41 pm »
Hey everyone, I've had my GCW for about a week now. Everything has been great, but a problem with the analog nub has come up and it's making the device unusable:

My nub is constantly registering "Axis 1 reads 1.00" when I'm not touching it, which caused the device to think I'm inputting a down all the time. If I put a slight pressure down (like pressing a button, not the down axis direction), the joystick works fine. If I'm not putting pressure on it but moving it around, it will only jump between -1.00 and 1.00.

Is there any way to fix this?

Sounds like your analog became partially desoldered and one of the pins doesn't make contact. I had a similar issue on one of my prototypes (after a year of usage), the solution was to open the case and solder the analog back to the board.

I don't know if you can disable analog use in gmenu2x config, but if not - this should be present in the future, so people like you won't be stuck.
