Author Topic: Will the ps vita d-pad fit when I replace it with my GCW0 d-pad?  (Read 1468 times)

Hi all,

I love my GCW0. It is awesome. But I absolutely hate the d-pad. It is crap.

So I want to replace it. I have seen that

@iames85 @jutley @Beerman1138 @evilbob @SkySword7 @Reds @com64 @retrogott @superfenix2020 @hanol @arovane @Swarmadd and more have done a d-pad replacement, but nobody did it with the PS Vita d-pad.
It looks like the d-pad has the same size as the gcw0. Maybe the membrame needs some cutting.

The PSVita d-pad is awesome. But lets say that I could replace it, will it be just as good on my gcw0? The stiffness, is that a combination of the d-pad and the way it is installed? So just the membrame and the d-pad replacement?

Thanks for any help! Click on the thumbnails for bigger photos.

Might be too thin to press properly, and the hard plastic might still rub against the shell.

As for the membranes, they may not mount properly since the GCW has 4 mounting posts instead of the Vita's 3, and I don't know how well they match up.

Don't think it's worth the risk (damaging wires inside the GCW) or effort when you can buy 3d printed ones designed for the GCW.

Silicone grease is also a valid low-cost option, which I used up until I bought 3d printed buttons.

Thanks for your answer.
It will very likely not rub against the shell, it looks like a tight fit. And the membame can be cut off a bit and maybe the mountinh can be done with some glue?
