Hey everyone... is there a reason why the webchat freenode channel is down?? I can't access it today...

Just tested the webchat. (http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=gcw&uio=d4) It appears to be operational.

What kind of error or issue do you encounter?

Alternatively, you can install a dedicated IRC client (https://hexchat.github.io/). Connection info can be found here (http://gcw-zero.com/irc).

it says "couldnt connect to remote server"

I'm in the states btw.

Searching for that phrase nets me a few hits about people being unable to connect to webchat - but never a real answer. I think the webchat is trying to connect to a specific server close to you which is down.

I'd recommend you to try a real IRC client instead. There you can also switch to a specific server if the default one you connect to doesn't work.
