I know, right? Now that it's been 5 days, we sit with our fingers crossed hoping that Jay-Bee delivers.

Just a friendly reminder that the folks over at the RS-97 thread are making it a VERY viable GCW0 replacement lol

RS-97 not will become the replacement of GCW-Zero. To begin with, GCW Zero is much more powerful than RS-97 and then there is the bad materials and so rare resolution that has RS-97

Yeah but it costs a fifth of the price and you can play most of the emulators just as good, plus, its actually available!

RS-97 is already the replacement for the GCW seeing as the GCW is not available and the company is run by known scammers. Also it has a nicer looking screen and a better dpad than the Zero and much better build quality.

I got an RS-97 delivered to my door for $45 in 8 days, then there's threads like this................
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, Pap KIII-Plus, RS-97, RS-90, New Bittboy, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket, PSP Go,
PC:
HP Envy M6, Acer 522, Dell Mini 9
Psion 5 & 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

It's true that's it's not as powerful -I really wish it had the same SoC as the Zero- it looks like it runs everything before PS1 just as good.
And besides, lets face it; the GCW0 was not running PS1 games well at all. Maybe a few of the earlier at simpler titles at close to full speed, but it struggled with the vast majority of the library.

If you want powerful then avoid both of these handhelds and get a GPD XD, the Zero and the RS-97 have very weak specs. They're fun little things though, for $45 the RS-97 is a great deal.

It's been shown time and time again that android is trash for games, especially emulators

True, there's some games it struggles with, especially if the game is one of the few on PS1 to render a true 60FPS on the original hardware (Tekken 3, for example). Most rendered 30FPS at most, despite what an emulator's FPS counter tells you. However, PCSX4ALL runs many 3D games on GCW Zero well, many full speed, some needing frameskip enabled.  And there are improvements being made now behind-the-scenes to increase performance even further. Some of these depend on jz4770 (GCW Zero CPU) features, such as MXU SIMD rev2 instructions, which the RS-97 and Dingoo A320 lack. Happily, however, many of the improvements will apply to all MIPS architectures.

That's not true at all. Which Android handheld do you own to form this opinion?

I can't believe that there's managed to be a reasonable alternative for half the price in the all the time it's taken thus far.

(Remember people, we are pretty much 2 and a half months away from the point when the actual order was made!)

I think this other handheld is making a very solid case for it self. I'm in.

Personally I've messed around with Android enough to know that the input lag and scaling is rough, especially on SNES. Sure it's serviceable, but I think these sorts of devices will do a bit better.

John's Emulators (NES/SNES) are decent with little to no lag on the GPD XD, just saying. The D-Pad on the XD is meh... Oh well...

Barwick is screwing us all with these ridiculous delays. Sigh...

Senorquack, dimitry, zear and any other gcw zero developers are you able to support the rs97 as that seems to be the future or are you tied to the gcw zero? Would be great if you could?

GCW Zero has excellent dev community but RS97 is lot less powerful so devs might not support it.

However Slaanesh is interested in porting over mame4all so that is very good news.
