Hi everyone !Here's my own tutorial for disassembling and modding the zero !Modded GCW ZeroRemove the analog stick coverAlso remove the ?SD.Remove the 4 cover with a needleRemove the 4 screws with a philips screwdriver (PH00)Remove the back cover starting by L or RBe carefull with the motor wires !Remove the motor using the screwdriverIf you know how to solder, it's a good idea to add a JST connector to be able to plug/unplug the batteryI solder on the GCW side et used thermal shrink on the battery sideThe switchPush the switch cover from the inside using the screwdriverSwitch cover removedRemove the L/R switch standFirstSecondIt's time to remove the remaining screws from the mobo.Remove the gray border : upAnd downIt is possible but not mandatory to deconnect the screenRemove the screen only to fix the trouble with light showing through the white casing.Black electric tape in place and cutButtons modPlastic cover used with sticky tape on itLED covered with electric tape : 1 black layer on red led and 2 white layer on green ledOriginal D-padStilland stillOriginal d-pad next to an unmodded black DMG d-padWhite modded d-pad from topFrom bottomFrom sideNo more light visible behind the bezelAnd the classic disclaimer :Opening the zero is likely to void your warranty (if there's any). That hardware modification is really likely to ruin your device. I could not be held for responsible if anything goes wrong. In any case, use common sense and don't try it if your not able to solder or know someone who can fix it for you if anything goes wrong.That being said, happy modding.
