The speakers in the Zero are utter crap. Like really, really bad. They are too small and of very low chinese quality. I tried to couple them with some others bigger stronger speakers that I placed in the back of the console, on the top, but without much success as I didn't want to make holes in the backside of the shell.
I have to find speakers that deliver better sound but that fits the size of the original ones. I don't know if that exists though. I'm thinking about opening up my GPD XD to see how they achieved such a great sound, but I'm afraid I'm going to destroy it, I heard it was very fragile (chinese stuff, again...)

I just use headphones, I don't expect great sound from tiny little speakers.

--To you guys that have replaced the D-pad and buttons with the Wii U Pro gamepad buttons...How difficult was it?  What did it involve?

Thanks!

@superfenix2020  I read elsewhere previously, that you said the SNES controller parts were too big for the GCW zero? Am I incorrect? Were you able to use the buttons just not the D pad? Would love to see photos! :)

@superfenix2020 awesome!!
So, the SNES controller buttons work for the mod? But not the SNES Dpad, correct?? Just the buttons?

I wanted to do the North-American purple SNES buttons for mine :)

Can't wait for more photos! Thanks!

Rubber Conductive original to GCW Zero it works.

you just have to cut some legs of the buttons so that the buttons do not collide. Previously, sanding all that part and make it wider holes. It is no easy task. You can make a good mess.

The buttons are very close together, but they are more comfortables and pleasant tightening.

I have no photos of the interior, but the holes for the buttons would be something similar.

WOW.... Amazing @superfenix2020 so great!

The buttons look so close together, but beautiful and comfortable too!

Great job and thank you for the photos! :)

- Do you get longer battery life with the Samsung wave?

- Do you like the feel of this DS Dpad  in comparison to the Wii U controller Dpad?

The battery life with the Samsung wave is similar the original battery GCW Zero.

the important  is that d-pad to work well, no matter the external appearance. The dpad Wii U is bigger and hard plastic. It's very difficult to work with it.

The buttons are very together because are quite wide and there is very little space in the case.
but... are very comfortable to tighten.

The Wii U D-Pad is excellent on the Zero, as well as the buttons, if adapted correctly. It has to be done with precision, otherwise the feel will be too hard. I've adjusted mine a bit high, it is less comfortable but more precise and since I play a lot of Shmups it suits me. But if you prefer comfort then you'll have to trim the base of the pad and buttons a little bit more. It's better to do it gradually until you're satisfied, than trimming too much right away cause once it's done you can't go back... Great mod, I'm totally happy with it :)

PS: How do I attach pictures on the text? I've attached 4 pictures but they're only viewable if you're online and you click on it.

Looks really cool! Great job man!
I really want to do the SNES North American purple button mod for mine, But I don't have the time nor the balls at the moment to tackle such a modification.

for your interest, d-pad and conductive rubber contact key Pad of the Wii Classic Controller, it works luxurious in the GCW-Zero.

I made this mod to console for a friend and operates luxury. ;)

also it applies. The important thing is that it fits inside and it is of 3.7V

the screen LCD is this

:)thanks for your excellent job and sharing. Having a question about the installation of new LCD (LQ035NC111 )you mentioned above: is it just pluging the new LCD in the original 54pin socket? is there any kernel modification of firmwarerequired?

thanks in advance

Would any of you fellas that perform these mods for the ZERO be able to perform mods as a service? On a per individual basis, etc.??

Be neat if I could send a future unit of mine in to you for modification like these :)
