Port Request: Mumble
« on: July 29, 2014, 05:34:29 am »
Mumble is an open source, low-latency, high quality voice chat software primarily intended for use while gaming.

It would be awesome to have a skype-like voice chat app, since the zero has a microphone.

I'm back. (for the third time) :P

The thing is Mumble requires QT to compile, which we don't support on GCW Zero. So one would need to force Mumble run in head-less mode before we can even talk about porting it to GCW Zero and checking the other dependencies.

I found lib-mumble on their git-hub. It says that its a library for cross platform clients, and I'm no developer so I was wondering what that would mean for the possibility of having mumble on the GCW-Zero.

The word "cross platform" means absolutely nothing. The lib dependencies need to be portable to GCW Zero. And then you'd still need to write a gui for it and nobody is going to devote their time just because someone requested it.
