Thanks, this is a great list! There are a few on here I haven't tried yet!

There are also a few games on the (temporary) GCW repo in their IRC channel that aren't on your list as they aren't yet available for other devices. If you've got a Zero, definitely check out the IRC channel.

Will some of these likely loose compatability?

Maybe if they change some stuff in the OS (kernel maybe or something else).

I know some emulators from the A320 worked at the beginning of the zero, but don't anymore. I don't know more about this.

You'll just have to make links to them with the gmenu, like on the A320.

Games compiled with Dingux legacy/OpenDingux toolchain for A320 will not work with GCW Zero because we:
1) have switched from soft-float to hard-float (hardware accelerated floating point calculations using the dedicated FPU unit)
2) a lot of libraries in the rootfs have been updated and games compiled against the older versions might not work anymore

That said, some of the software does not use floating point and it's library usage remains compatible, and that is when this software might still work on GCW0.

It should be noted that all we need to do to make A320 games work with GCW0 will be in most cases a simple recompilation using our GCW0 toolchain.

I should discourage anybody from running or hoping to run verbatim any A320 compiled binaries on GCW0. They were not designed to run on GCW0 and we take no responsibility for any misbehaviour of them.

Moreover, all the GCW0 software is designed to run in opk format. The old way of running the software is still available, but we don't endorse it and you should not hope for our support if any issues occur.

We in GCW devteam believe that software running on our device should be always of top quality. That's why when we port a game to GCW0 we not just recompile it, but often fix the bugs, refine the button mapping and overall polish the software. That's another reason why you should stay away from the old A320 binaries and rather wait for us to properly port it to GCW0.

Does this still hold true?  If so I may have to get busy learning.

It's still true, but we prefer to fix and polish the ports along the way. Not just recompile. Plus you will need to at least add $HOME support if you want to pack your port as .opk.

Since I'm such a nice guy (and have too much free time on my hands) I tried these with the current OpenDingux version (2013-10-04), all seem to work. There were a few I didn't bother testing (Spout, Biniax, etc.) because they've already been ported over to the Zero.
My machines:
GBC,GBA,GBA SP,NDS,NGPC,Panasonic FZ-10 3DO,NES,Sega Nomad,Sega CDX w/Power Base Converter,PS1,PS2,PS3,Saturn,Dreamcast,PC (Win 98, XP, 7),Dingoo A320,Dingoo A330,Gemei A330,LetCool N350JP,PAP-GAMETA,GCW-Zero SE,Kyocera Rise,2DS,GP2X-F100,GPD G7,JXD 100,JXD A1000,JXD A3300,JXD F3000,JXD V5000,JXD S7300B,Hyperkin SupaBoy

Currently playing: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call (2DS)

After playing it a little more, I've got to revoke FLESHCHASMER's "working" status. I hadn't played it before trying it on the Zero, so I just assumed it was supposed to play the way it does. Playing it side-by side on my A330 shows 2 obvious differences:

1. On the Zero, it plays WAY too fast. Dialogue and status updates scroll off the screen without ample reading time, and your character is pretty tricky to control.

2. Random enemies do not spawn. You might think this a plus, giving you an opportunity for a low-level speedrun. But without leveling and re-equipping with the exp. and loot given by random enemies, the first boss will kill you in 1 hit.

1. Back then it used static SDL_Delay

2. Seems rand() returns sad

I've downloaded some of these games and I see they are not .opks. How do you install them in the GCW?
