A Youtube player would be a nice app to have available, perhaps with podcatcher services available as well. (Don't you DARE try emulating YouTube's layout! >:U )

Google will not block the app? Many companies block non-official apps.

If it's an app, it wouldn't go through Google. It should go straight to Youtube.
As far as I know, they wouldn't mind a Youtube app. It's available on so many devices.

It looks like (except for downloading) it is encouraged. There is an API with code samples including python:

This! Please give me a reason to turn WiFi on.

A podcatcher would be a great addition to the GCW app catalogue.  :)

Or maybe you could include this function into your music player. Winamp and Kodi are two examples that have it included.

I just use to access over SSH :|

But sure, it's a nice feature to have.

Another thing I thought of, though it would take awhile, is creating a software like GameMaker, but specifically for development on the GCW-Zero. That would take the community by storm, and we would see a ton of new games showing up.

Someone was working on a python program like GameMaker. Since the GCW-Zero supports Python, making an export for this should be possible. They released the source. I don't know if it's finished or not.

There's only a Python interpreter, so speeds won't be great.
If want to Dive Into Python then we first need a good MIPS compiler for it, like PyPy.
Try porting that first and a whole ton of games would suddenly become available for GCW0.

If only Yoyogames would support the GCW-Zero in GMStudio. I've created quite a few games with GameMaker, and it would be great if I could port them, but it's not possible.

Something like this would be great though. I haven't seen a whole lot of Python games. Small games like chess and such, sure, but are there any large Python games?

There's also love2d, powered by luajit, which has much better performance.

There already is such software for GCW Zero, called Headcannon Game Engine. And no, so far it didn't take the community by storm, because 99% of our community are just consumers, and the couple of devs we have prefer to write their own game engines.

I haven't heard of this. I'll have to check it out.
