go out any year this update that offers everything what Justin promised that would do the console?
Justin is not the one writing the firmware.

To be fair, superfenix2020 didn't say this. ;)

no matter, in the console box puts it clearly: HDMI and USB OTG and They sell the console with those two features. And then do not. The console costs 150 euros, not 50 euros.

Hm, I think it would make more sense to take this half of the GCW:

You loose half the screen and the analog stick, but I think it would still be usable. You have the D-Pad, 5 buttons and a LED! :P

Yo dude !
I'm coming from future and i know what will happen,
you should not worry about the new firmware or else
everyone involved will be really sad !!!
Just enjoy your device and keep being positive !

Here's what happened two years later :

The community still is waiting for TV Out to be supported but most of them became hopeless
and moved on to other things, such as getting their credit card stolen by Google.

Surkow, zear and pcercuei became depressed after they failed to properly implement
the TV Out feature and they became even more depressed after they looked at their email boxes filled up
with death threats.

The few people left were hopping that Justin would bring his Magic Wand to do something about it...
but the miracle never happened.

Justin, after lots of frustrations with the manufacturers, became depressed too and moved
entierely away from retrogaming, which has become a niche again with new devices like the Oculus Rift. and Hololens.

David Knight over the years became pretty sad : he tried to switch to Android instead
but he has found the toolchain difficult to use and the few apps he came up with are a complete failure.
David Knight now works on network security, he's no longer a homebrewer.

Ziz too tried to move to Android, with little success.
He has become frustrated with the touch controls and the bad ratings from children because
the gameplay is too deep and the graphics are 8-bits.
Ziz still has not given up but he quickly understood that his golden years were now over.

zear became so sad, he still has not finished UMG, his gameboy-like platformer.
He fondly remembers the Dingoo days and the GCW Zero's death really hurt his feelings.
He decided to do a youtube channel where he will talk about open-source devices and retrogaming
in general.
His channel had a small following and he was pretty happy about that.
He died peacefully on his bed 20 years later.

GCW Zero and the Pyra were the last open-source handled to be released to the market
due to difficulties and conflict of interest with manufactuers and were unable to answer the user's new needs.
While the Pyra was a little success, it still wasn't enough for EvilDragon and they quickly felt the lack of funds
for their new project.
Their Kickstarter was a success but they were unable to ship the new consoles and they went bankrupt.

You have a piece of history children, make sure to keep it as long as you're alive !

I don't get depressed because something doesn't work. I work on it until it does.

nooooo, you ruined my post.

That aside, that's great to hear. :D
Also, i remember you were working on something that you should allow you to switch to more recent kernel
more easily, i just don't remember how it was called actually.

Jeez that was pretty negative.

Howabout this instead?

I am not an IT professional, I have no qualifications in IT.

A year ago I decided that I was unhappy with the lack of development progress on my new GCW0 and decided to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

I learnt to code from the internet. Anyone with an internet connection, time and patience could have done what I did.

So if anyone out there wants so see TV-Out or indeed any other feature, instead of complaining, why not learn to code then see if you can contribute.

My description is pretty good - but not in the future. I tried Android. Didn't like it for gaming.  ;D

When I read your post I had just spent four hours trying fruitlessly to optimise a blitter. I had no sense of humour at that point ;)

EDIT Ah, my blitter is finally working  :)
