Added sounds and scrolling background, which randomly became space-themed because that was easy to do

Would be nice, if it would bounce at the whole-border, too. :)

I'm looking to change the name of this game, since I heard that it resembles Russian swearing... and it's long. Suggestions?

- NebuFall
- FreeFall
- Falling

I think I'll use "FallingTime"; Zero Gravity is good but obviously, the game has gravity :P

I totally missed your sendfile Gab1975, so here it is:

But now I will need the following:

- Another title, with the new name
- Maybe some ice/snow-related backgrounds

I made the new title (with a short animation), I hope you like it! :)
Here the sendspace link: https://www.sendspace.com/file/5mobc5

PS I used a freeware font (londrina), I put it inside the zipped file.

Added title here

And now the game is FallingTime, hosted here: https://github.com/cxong/FallingTime
(the old url still works but redirects)

I like NebuFall best!
Too late! ??? If only you could convince Gab1975 to make another title...

I got an error, because you define min implicit.

When I fix this with
#define min(a,b) (((a) < (b))?(a):(b))

I get new linking erros about not finding sqrtf, roundf and floor.

Sounds like you are on an OS that does not automatically link the math library; try adding that (in CMake, add "m" to the target_link_libraries())

Anyway for such issues, I think it's easier to discuss in github using issues/PRs

Hm, I would guess many distributions do that. At least the debian derived.

However, this fixed it! :D

Score 105 at first try. Did you consider implementing C4A support?

Yes: https://github.com/cxong/FallingTime/issues/4

but first, I'd like to fix the gameplay. As you've demonstrated, it's too easy 8) but also I feel it's too slow paced, the bouncing is inconsistent and so on. I'd like to have a similar pace to fall down, without necessarily ripping it wholesale. I have a few ideas on making the gameplay better than fall down but this will need to be tried and tested first.

Replaced font and some backgrounds.

Since vertical parallax ice/snow backgrounds are almost non-existent, I had to make do and ended up with some weird icy-abstract background. It looks ok; not as cozy as the space one but fits better with the penguin, I hope.

Please playtest the game!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs7YjAPny18

Download .opk: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44100433/falling_time.opk

I've now made the gameplay changes I wanted, integrating Chipmunk 2D physics engine and tweaked gameplay. The game is meant to be hard and punish any mistake you make, but there is a difficulty ceiling so in theory if you play perfectly you can get a very high score. Any suggestions welcome.

Very nice :)

Just one problem, a few times it would not register my dpad press, so I had to let go of it and press it again. It happened mostly when I pressed left/right fast after each other.

Thanks everyone who worked on this. It's a nice game!

I got only to score 57 so far :)

I didn't notice any problems with the d-pad, but I think this would be an excellent candidate for the g-sensor! I've found g-sensor to actually be more accurate than even the joystick.

Thanks again for sharing this game!
