Anyone with a GCW zero SE to test my benchmark?
« on: January 19, 2013, 05:30:31 pm »
Hello!

I don't have a GCW0 yet (waiting for one in March when the kickstarter succeeds) but today I installed the linux devkit in a VirtualBox Ubuntu installation and managed to compile GpMark (the latest source on Opendingux for Dingoo, hope the keymappings are similar, even though it's not important for benchmarking). I would be happy if someone would try to run this on his GCW0 and report the results. Just curious how good it performs compared to Caanoo or other handhelds.

ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/users/optimus/progs/gcw0/preview/gpmark_gcw0_test.zip (if fail, try twice, sometimes untergrund fails and seems like file does not exist, but needs click twice or right click, save as)

Inside I have the OPK with essential binary file (the big 2MB 3d bunny mesh and the draculin texture for rotozoomer) and the source code too.

If it fails at first time I won't beg you to try other tests (it's tedious by distance, I prefer to wait for the handheld) and if someone wants he can try to compile the source and make it work properly. But if it runs at first time (hopefully there isn't any bug that makes it underperform), it would be awesome to read results.

Doesn't work for me.

I think the .opk file is supposed to include everything in it. Don't need to make a .opk file, some games/emuls work in .dge.

Tried your opendingux version, it launched but the bunny mesh and rotozoomer didn't appear.

The fps results were weird : 107 FPS for the Zer0 and 250 for the caanoo.

And 500fps for the Dingoo A320.
We are using gpmark to benchmark the video driver already. Currently on the GCW0 it's not that performant, but there's a lot of room for optimisation.

Ok, good to hear that. Then I'll wait later when I get the handheld in my hands :)

From the bottom of my head, I remember the bunny test got an impressive number on the Zero, something like 30fps or more.

Yes, that's what I wanted to hear! The very CPU intensive tests not stopped by the slow vram blitting. I guess the other tests hit the 100fps wall? The radial blur too?

p.s. Pandora did only 10fps on Bunny! http://exlmoto.ru/gpmark-multiplatform-benchmark/
