We are really excited to be announcing new, completely redesigned 3D printed DPAD and ABXY buttons, available right now in numerous different colors on our Official GCW Store Page at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/gcw-zero. Over the last few years, a lot of behind the scenes research and development has been done to improve the buttons of the GCW-Zero. Our Industrial Design team has obsessed over the smallest details in design of the buttons and tested many different prototypes to give them a complete redesign and make sure they are the best they can be.

Now that we?re offering a bunch of new colors, we want to see who comes up with the coolest custom Zero! Our 3D printing store is a great way for us to research and develop new hardware designs and get them out to you as quickly as possible. Your interest in future developments keeps us going!

The button text was intentionally removed to allow you to use any button in any location. This avoids any confusion between console manufacturer's existing button settings. Another reason is that it makes the 3D print ordering process much simpler, this way you can move the buttons around later if you like them in a different spot without having to worry about button text.

This is really cool!
However, does the D pad NOT come in black?!
If at all, I would just like to replace/upgrade but keep the color scheme same. I didn't see a black option for the D pad or buttons!

Black is not available in polished form, therefore it is not available at the Shapeways store. New colors can always be added later on if Shapeways decides to make them available.

It was actually available before the article went live. So this also forced us to update the templates included in the article.

Thank you I hope they add it! I'd really love to upgrade without having to change the colors! Otherwise, I still may have to mod :-/

If there is a new batch, don't expect new buttons any time soon. These 3D printed buttons are intended for gauging interest. Making button moulds is going to take a lot of time and money.

Yes, that is correct. I assumed he was referring to the completely redesigned 3D printed buttons.

They shouldn't have any problems. If they do, I would send it back. But chances are slim that any of the new batches have any problems with them.
I wouldn't let this withhold me from buying the unit, if that's what you mean.
