A few inquires about GCW Zero Development
« on: March 18, 2014, 03:40:14 am »
So I just got a GCW Zero and it will be here soon and honestly I am excited to make something on it especially since I have just started developing. I'm a little sad I can't use C# because I am learning it for use with Unity, but learning C might not be so bad and I do know some python. I just have to ask a couple question so I know if some of my goals are realistic.

1.I use to emulate on my android phone but I'll be using the Zero for that. However, when using my android phone for emulation, I had used an app called Dropsync to keep my saves and savestates updated on my Dropbox. I could be out and playing a game on my phone and then when I get home just jump on my computer/Ouya to pick up where I left off without any hassle.....So my question is how possible would it be to created an application for the Zero to sync a folder on the Zero with a folder on my Dropbox? If this is possible which programming langauge would be better use to get it done because I want to get it done...Also it doesn't have to be automatic.

2.I've heard a lot of the GCW Zero's features aren't implemented in the firmware. Does this mean we'd have to wait for them to implement the features to use them in an application.

The GCW Zero supports FTP. I'm sure there are ways to sync an FTP location to your Dropbox folder.

Anyone can contribute to these missing features. If you are a developer you can join the development channel at IRC (#opendingux at freenode) to see what you can do for the project.
