VMUDingoo 0.1 - Sega Visual Memory Emulator for Dingux
« on: March 27, 2010, 12:17:45 am »
Hello!

After fixing some control stuff and adding a rom selector (thanks ^Misato^), I'm releasing this first version of the VMU Emulator.

This is the README:
Code: [Select]
Intro and credits
-----------------
VMUDingoo is a Dreamcast Visual Memory emulator for the
Dingoo A-320 Handheld running Linux.

It's based on the softvms emulator by Marcus Comsted.
ROM selection routine by Ester (^Misato^) from Vieju.Net
CPU Speed code by A600.

All other code is under the GNU GPL License (see LICENSE).

Installing
----------
Just drop the vmudingoo folder on your SD card under local/
and make a link to vmudingoo.dge in your favourite dingux menu.
Then drop some VMS roms (only VMS are supported at the moment)
inside the roms/ folder and enjoy.

Controls
--------
Controls are straightforward:

DINGOO   VMU
......  .....
D-PAD D-PAD
A     A
B     B
START SLEEP
SELECT   MODE

And L button for exiting from the current game and from the
ROM selector.

Known bugs
----------
Some games run VERY fast, I have to check the CPU Timer
implementation.
Sound is buggy.
Volume is fixed.

Namaste, xzakox.

@xzakox: Nice port. But only your included Pacman runs fine. Other roms run too fast and are nearly unplayable.

Could you please add a commandline argument for Roms, that i can use the gmenu2x ROM selector? This way i can put the roms on SDCard where i want (i don't want the roms in app dirs).

thanks :)

I have compiled for the Bittboy, but it is unplayable, it goes too fast. I have tried to slow it down but have not succeeded.
Would someone who knows the code know where I have to modify it but go a little slower?
