Super Mario War (April Fools Edition)
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:04:48 am »
Hello,

Guess what now??? Its Super Mario War (April Fools Edition), hehe.   Enjoy... ;D ;D ;D

Game Control:
---------------------

D-pad          : Move Mario Up, Down, Left, Right
Jump           : D-pad UP

Note:  You need to use SWAP Kernal and SWAP files to play this game smoothly.   This game runs very fine on A330 with 64mb Kernel and SWAP.

As you probably noticed, the game runs a scaled 640x480 resolution on a 320x240 screen. That's why the fonts and some other things on the screen are unreadable.
But don't worry, me and zLoud are working on it. Here's our first attempt at a more readable font at this scale (compare to the one from release pic):

There will be more improvements, not only graphics-wise ;)

Thanks zear and zLouD for your awesome work.  I have checked the code today and it looks like it needs lot of work.  I wish I had more time to work on it.  Thanks again.

This may be a dumb question but how do I use the SWAP files that are mentioned with this release?

Thanks

You need a swap kernel, and the scripts to make/activate the swap file:
http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-releases/kernel-by-sience-(updated-boukichi%27s-kernel)-tvout-rtc-swap-poweroff/

Got it working!!! Thanks eule... I am also hoping that zear and zLoud will give the game some speed enhancement as well. It runs well put has a small lag to it even with SWAP ON and clocked at 430mhz. Thanks again.

Doesn't work well out of the box on the A320 and couldn't be arsed doing the swap thingy, so I removed it but did an icon anyway:
