Read my Blog or the included Changelog.txt ;-).

If you have patches, please send it to me to add them to this svn. If you want commit access, ask me.

Thanks for the emu, great job.

Although one thing that really bothers me is the hotkeys for save/load state. Since Start button, as well as L and R are used by the game - every time I load or save - I end up pausing the game/opening menu/doing whatever Start button does in a game.

Is it possible to remap the save/load hotkeys somehow?
Personally, I would prefer the Dingoo's way of using D-Pad + Power button. Sure it's not the most easy-to-use combo, but having to deal with Start button each time you save/load is even worse IMHO.

I would go further and remove the whole quicksave function. Just because the menu one is more intuiv. This was only meant...when snes9x had no menu.

What you think about?

The dingux can't get the power button??

Since we can press (START + SELECT + POWER) to restart in gmenu, wondered about someway to the emulator to map this button.
But I only know pascal, you are the real programmer here.

Btw, in Metal Warriors and some other few games, I get a sound crack after use the auto-load state(Start+Select+L) while playing, it's seems a part of the before sounds keep playing in the loaded state.

Yes. I noticed this too but only in ealier releases. I do some additional tests.

Small note: My Snes9x 1.52 port works but i'm sad :-\ .

All Chips are working esp. SA1, C4, DSP1, DSP2, FX1, FX2. Just it's a full port of the newest Snes9x 1.52 with all features. Movie recording, cheating, ips-patching and lots more.

Why i'm so sad?
Just because the fps is terrible slow. I only get ~6fps. Not playable. I ask for help in the Snes9x Forum but no one answers me.

I took the original Snes9x kernel code 1.52 without modifications. Only the porting thinks i took from my Snes9x4D. So the question is....why it's so much slower.

here is the thread in Snes9x forum:

So I assume, power button doesn't work on Dingux?

Going into menu and selecting "save slot" every time isn't the easiest way to save game either (there are people who save every 5 seconds, I'm one of them :D), but here's an idea.. what if the hotkeys were within the menu, so that you could load/save with a single button instead of using D-pad to select the save/load option in the menu?

Here's how it could work:

step 1: Select+B to open menu
step 2: L or R to save/load game using selected state slot.
After the game has saved/loaded, the menu would automatically close and the game would resume, so that you don't have to press Select+B again.

How does that sound?

Some way to remap hotkeys would still be nice though. Just in case. :P

Hello,

first of all I want to thank for your efforts in converting and enhancing snes9x for Dingux. I mostly play RPGs and was happy to be able to play Star Ocean on my Dingoo when SDD1 became possible. I mostly use save states instead of the internal save function and after the transition to the 4D version yesterday, I noticed, that old save states from the previous non 4D Version do not work. I have not tried any other game yet, but for Star Ocean, the save states load, but the game freezes after the menu closes and one has to do a hard reset. I will try other games and post the result.

Thanks again for your efforts

Marco

The old savestates don't work in the 4D versions, SiENcE warned this somewhere(in the same long text he said "now will call it snes4D cause something"), I just can't find where, but he did.

Yes i did and said, that it's better to use SRAM saves. They don't change.

If you add Special Chips into Snes9x you have to save thier registers too during Savestate. And thats the problem. The old Savestates don't have this registers. Compatibility is not possible. This takes too much time.

One solution.
1. You play with your old Emu until you can save SRAM. Save inGame here (not Savestate!).
2. Then change to the new Version.
3. Load this savegame (not Savestate!) and do a Savestate.

Okay, I read most posts, but not all, my fault. I will try your solution.
So if I understand it correctly, the old save states do not work cause the SA-1 register data is missing and the emulator expects them whether SA-1 is used or not.

Thanks for the advice

Marco

For some reason this does not work for me. I have updated before without a problem, this time when i select a rom i get kicked back to the main menu.

I replaced the old snes9x file with the new one as before in the emulator directory, linked the icon to the correct folder in gmenu2x, but when I select the rom I can go no further.

Did you activated the Selector and the correct rom directory?

yes, i select a rom from the list, it appears to load as white text scrolls down the screen, but I just get returned to the menu.

I can keep trying and see what happens.
