ReGBA v1.45 for OpenDingux
« on: September 10, 2013, 09:51:34 pm »
ReGBA 1.45  is ready!

Features of the emulator

You can look at these features in the ReGBA Manual on your device. Press Select with ReGBA selected in gmenu2x, then choose "Show manual of ReGBA".

*Loading ROMs, both uncompressed and compressed in zip format.
*Synchronised video. Optionally scaled to full screen, and optionally preserving the aspect ratio of the image, using two scalers.
*Fast-forwarding.
*Synchronised audio.
*In-game saving and saved states (see below for more information about saved states).
*Rebinding for all GBA buttons. The emulator has a menu you can enter with a customisable hotkey (default is X). You can use the menu to reset the game, exit to gmenu2x and set some settings. They are saved to a file, so you can use your favourite scaling, FPS counter, boot screen, remapping and hotkey settings all the time.
*Per-game settings, so that you can use the same settings for most games but override them as needed. Press Select at the ReGBA Main
*Menu for the per-game settings.
*Bundled game_config.txt for greater compatibility, as well as overrides in /local/home/.gpsp/game_config.txt.
*Bundled open-source GBA BIOS replacement by Normmatt, as well as the ability to drop the Nintendo GBA BIOS in /local/home/.gpsp/gba_bios.bin.
*A border when the GBA image is shown on the screen without scaling. You can override this border by putting one at /local/home/.gpsp/border.png.
*Automatic and manual frameskip.

Default Keys:
X = Open the main menu.

I haven't tested but I doubt it.

Certainly it's more accurate and in some games it's faster. But it's an alpha, it will be better in the future.

Gaku_Kano may provide the next build of ReGBA soon. On the GCW Zero it is alpha 4, and it has a few changes from the previous version.

Namely, there's a new menu with a few options, and I moved it to the Y key because Start+Select sent the first button to the game as well as ReGBA itself. So I changed the screen scaling hotkeys to L+Select and R+Select; X+Y doesn't exit to gmenu2x anymore, and X and Y don't act as rapid-fire A and B keys on their own.

Keep that in mind for alpha 4 and later.

Thanks for keeping up with our additions for me ;) [that is, pcercuei, JohnnyonFlame and me]

I don't have a Dingoo A320, so it helps to have people like you to do testing and builds.

Alpha 6 is available for the GCW Zero. In commit a7658b6 I removed the L+Select and R+Select hotkeys on the A320 for changing the image scaling because there are now 3 options. I also removed the analog bindings on the GCW Zero, so now the menu deals with the setting exclusively.

Thanks for your work.

I'm tested in my Dingoo with 886 mhz overclock.

Aspect ratio scaler is very good, thank you for add it.

The emulator works very good but the performance in this alphas is worse than native emulator even with overclocking.

Without scaling, when borders load, performance of emulator drops, ?It's a bug?

I try to test conflictive games soon.

Regards.

Thank you, but give thanks to Nebuleon, I've only compiled the sources.
I haven't had those problems and the games that i've tested runs better on ReGBA, What games have you tested?
Maybe is a typing error but, is possible to overclock the CPU to 886mhz? whenever I try to go further of 432mhz my Dingoo get stuck.
Greetings.

Great job!!! This makes me wonder... with Lion-RSM having released the source to his emulators for native (and their front-ends), is there any change of a native port of ReGBA? It would make the crappy native emulator obsolete.

But... he never released a GBA emulator for native, having sources for other systems doesn't make much difference. Maybe the UI can be reused (which is the same as PocketSNES if I remember correctly) and maybe someone might take some optimization ideas from his emulators, but I can't think of anything else.

Alpha 10 for OpenDingux now available

If you have used the alpha 9, you will have to delete global_config.cfg from /local/home/.gpsp, otherwise the alpha 10 won't start.
