Goods news: Loos like flpstr are working in a FBA emulator for Open Dingux, based in GP2X version.

Did you do anything special to get Dingux2600 working on the latest OD? When I try to launch it I see the splash screen and then it immediately kicks me back to OD.

I silently fixed it and re-uploaded it to the same address  :-*

I edited the Dingoo Wiki, Dingux Hugo works (confirmed). But uPCE also works, and is bloody fast also in 336 mhz! (Testing Super Adventure Island, Raiden and Splatterhouse 3).

Its funny, I think different dingoo's have different quirks. I Can't get hugo to work very well at all, in fact its the only opendingux compatible app that i cant get to work. Everything else has been fantastic. despite formatting my sd card and installing everything fresh, hugo has no sound and cant save settings. Upce is excellent, yet still has no sound and terrible graphic corruption in air zonk, and graphic corruption in neutopia. all else seems to work great. And yes, its very fast!!

ive tried the second developer opendingux and it works fine,so i dont know why the first user dingux doesnt work?.
Ive been too the opendingux website to download the first user dingux again and they only have the developer opendingux, and no first user opendingux download.

There could be many reasons, but it's worth to check, if:
* you updated both kernel AND rootfs to the first end-user release
* you use the same version of emulators as the ones other people report as working (they should say which versions they are using)
* you followed the proper instructions when installing the given emulator (some require a certain bios version for faster emulation, etc.)
* you use the same cpu clock as the others (I propose everyone should test at 336MHz, as that's the default)
* the global volume is higher than zero and unmuted
* you run the emulator and/or roms from SD card and not NAND (nand in OD is read-only, so emulator settings/rom sram could not be saved)

Please check if the md5 sums of your downloads match (I posted them earlier in this thread). Also be sure you're installing OD on a freshly formatted (not just with files removed) card.

This site? I'm certain it's there, under the header "2012-06-16: First end-user release". Maybe try clearing your browser cache? Or are you using a caching proxy server that might be serving an outdated version of the page?

Thanks for the reply Zear. yea i did all those things. i formatted my sd card, installed both kernal and rootfs from the opendingux first end user release site. I followed the updated compatability list, and only installed known working apps. As far as upce goes, i typed that wrong. I do get sound, i dont get sound in air zonk and graphical corruption. In hugo, i get no sound on anything despite how high i have the volume set and the same graphical corruption in air zonk and neutopia. I have tested many version of those two games and can confirm they work perfect on my desktop emulators, but work terrible on the dingoo.   I finally get tv out, but its split screen. The best i ever got before was fuzzy black and white. Those two issues are the only problems i have found. Everything else is amazing and fast.

Also, i tested wold3d dingux and can add it to the apps that currently dont seem to function. I figured i would as no one else had tested it yet.

You mean dingux-hugo, the one by zx-81? Because it has sound here.

Do they work correctly in Legacy Dingux? If not, that's an issue of the emulator, not OpenDingux.

I have added a couple of items that I have confirmed to work to the wiki page for OpenDingux Games. If you have tested a game that works well under the current OD release, please add it to the wiki page here.

http://wiki.dingoonity.org/index.php?title=OpenDingux:Games

This page did not exist until I started adding items to it. You should be able to just copy and paste working game listings from the Legacy Dingux games page.

Also, may I just say HOLY CRAP, THE SUSPEND/RESUME FEATURE IS AWESOME. Totally transforms the Dingoo for me. Can pause and pocket any game at any time and resume later with very minimal battery usage. This, to me, is the killer app for OpenDingux.

Yes, I can confirm this, using this version I have sound.

Here is the topic of the Dingux-Hugo emulator, and many other:

Not yet, really. There was a post earlier in the thread that was a good starting place. As you find things, please add them to the wiki.

Yea, i posted in that topic along time ago. I did get sound in legacy dingux, i get no sound in opendingux. UPCE works fine, opendingux hugo does not for me. I understand that others are having no problems this is why i believe it might be a weird quirk in my dingoo. Maybe others are having a similiar issue i dont know. In OD Hugo  I get corruption in air zonk, neutopia, and legendary axe 2, and no sound at all. In Upce i get the same corruption in all those games, but only air zonk has no sound. I have tried multiple different versions of those games and still get the same corruption. When i put them on my desktop emulator they work fine. I dont believe its OD, i actually think its my hardware, as i still cannot get tv out as well. These are very small issues as i'm more than happy, and am extremely thankful for all the hard work you guys have put in.  I agree with the suspend app as well, truly excellent!!!!

Could anyone, please, enumerate the advantages of OD over Legacy as a final user? Does this include the correction for blueish screen in ili8888 (that would be great for GBA emulation)? The information is very confusing and it looks like a lot of software doesn't work properly.  An in-depth review might be helpful for those people who are hesitant -or lazy- to try this new release. Thanks.

A list of working emulators would be nice to have as well.
