Dingux-vectrex
« on: September 11, 2011, 01:36:41 pm »
Hi, this a new emulator vectrex for dingoo, it's based on caanoo-vectrex (by zx-81).
This emulator is much faster than my other port, and there nice options.

I just try it on OpenDingux, please tell me if it run on legacy dingux too.

Roms have to be in the rom folder and Overlay in the "Over" folder.
Be carrefull about the overlay name
for exemple
<rom_name>.bin -> rom name
<rom_name>_rot90.png -> first overlay
<rom_name>_norm.png -> second overlay

I included some roms and Overlay (public Domain)

The roms are public domain and free to distribute so I zipped them up and added the overlays in both orientations for everyone.

You can get it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9WOXR8P4

I also included the non commerical and homebrew romsets as well as the overlays so you can clean them up if you want to. They are in the MISC directory

The emulator runs great when overclocked to 430. Thanks so much for doing this! It is one of my favorite systems and my real vectrex is about to die  :'( I will do a video of it if tv-out works. I am at work now so I will try when I get home.

No problem thanks for the updated port! I have not had issues with the emulator crashing on exit but have had the issue with the buttons being  a little touchy in the menu. I am running open dingux

It probably crashes on OpenDingux too; but OD is able to recover from crashes, the framebuffer is unlocked and gmenu2x is restarted.

That's not true, it will work on both OpenDingux and SiENcE's kernel.

i did an "OpenDingux only" version available on my page.
I think this version will gain few fps for the openDingux user, it use hardware surface and doublebuffer.

It works absolutely fine on Dingux normal, thank you for your work!
It has introduced me to Vectrex playing. Currently enjoying its version of Berzerk :D
(There is some strange "waterfall" sound loudly behind it that only disappears when anyone shoots, I assume this was in the original game?)
