[final fix][rev4][OD Release!] Dink Smallwood (FreeDINK)
« on: September 24, 2012, 06:41:56 pm »
TESTED WITH 32MB OF SWAP RAM
Do not run this without swap, it WILL crash.

This is an adapted version of FreeDINK for the OpenDingux platform, it has been scaled, adapted and slashed to run on OpenDingux based systems!

A little gift I'm dropping for the community once more, keep in mind this has yet to be tested on the Dingoo A320.

latest rev4 patch: http://www.mediafire.com/?8v947970gfz2607 (apply over the file above)

Don't forget to share your feedback!

And it doesn't work (segfault). You sure you didn't leave the 32bpp scaler on?

The patch on OP should fix the segfault.

It seems i can't make it work. :(

I have created local/etc/swap.conf with SWAP_SD_SIZE_MB=32 line but it crashes with this message:
can't load library 'libfontconfig.so.1'

What am I doing wrong?

Install the first link, patch with the second link, then run the launcher instead of the freedink binary.

Ahh, thank you! :) I managed to start low details version and it works great though, high details version restarts my Dingoo.
I think I will enjoy it even without the sound :). Thank you for this jewl johnnyonflame!  :)

Enjoy this awesome game! I am happy that you're enjoying it (once more?).
If you raise the swap up to 64mb you SHOULD be able to play through the game on High with Sound (edit the launcher to alter the settings, notepad++ on windows, or any linux editor), but I cant guarantee you any stability or performance. 396~408mhz should improve quite a bit on the performance. (anything over 408 starts bottlenecking RAM and going unstable. I found 396mhz for memory-bus heavy apps such as this to be optimal.)

Success! :D  For some reason dingux didn't accept change in swap size from 32 to 64 editing within OD so I used my trusty Ubuntu. :)

With 128mb of swap and clocked 408mhz with deleted "--nosound" from the dge launcher I am playing the game on High details with sound. I will be testing-playing it until I finish the game so for now I don't see any stability problems.

Thank you jonhnnyonflame again for the help. :)
