Moving Dingux and games from one SD to another.
« on: January 04, 2012, 10:25:25 pm »
I'm trying to move my files from my original 256mb miniSD card to a new microSD card I have just purchased. When I moved everything across, I was expecting it to work but when Dingux boots (it does get to the section where the startup code is shown)t fails and displays the following, then starts flashing.

FATAL: cannot not guess /dev/mmcb1k0p1 filesystem type (17)
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempting to kill init!

I have used a miniSD adapter as I am now using an 8gb microSD. Is the error because I'm using an adaptor by any chance and if so what can I do to fix this? If its because of something silly about transferring everything from one SD card to another, what do I do next?

Nevermind. I forgot to format the new SD card to fat32. It's all working now. :)

Hi StarBurst,

I'm a new user too, and I have been getting the same error message you did.  I've read in several places that I need to format the card to a partition--is this something you did as well? Can you tell me how you formatted the card exactly?

Thanks a lot!
