Flash Firmware..
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:04:28 pm »
Okay, so I bought a Dingoo A320 from dx.com last month and it arrived this morning.  I've been playing with it today and I decided to set up dingux on it as far as I could (getting a mini sd adapter tomorrow). It's the ILI9338 LCD version and I have managed to update the drivers but I'm stuck on the flash firmware section of the tutorial (http://www.dingoo-scene.com/TheCompleteidiotsGuidetoDinguxWindoze.htm).

It states the following:

Open a command shell (Start --> Run --> "cmd"), change to the directory where you unpacked the dual boot files and execute the following commands:

usbtool-win 1 hwinit.bin 0x80000000

This should initialize the Dingoo?s NAND flash, preparing it to be written to. Then type:

usbtool-win 1 zImage_dual_boot_installer_ILI9325 0x80600000 (replace ?ILI9325? by ?ILI9331? if you have the later LCD type)

Yeah.. I'm lost. :P I need all the help I can get with this, thanks a lot.

What's exactly the part where you're stuck? Do you know what "cmd" is? Where did you unzipped the dual boot files?
If you have Windows 7 you don't have to go to Start -> Run -> "cmd", you have to open the start menu and type "cmd" in the search field, then select "cmd.exe" on the results.
To change directories use the command "cd" followed by the full path where you unzipped your files (like "cd c:/dualbootfolder".

In the last command you sould replace "9325" with "9338" as that's your screen model.

I do know what CMD is, I unzipped the files to a folder named dingoo on my desktop. I can get to cmd.exe
Ok.. so I would write: cd C:\users\Olly\desktop\dingoo (enter) usbtool-win 1 hwinit.bin 0x80000000 (enter) usbtool-win 1 zImage_dual_boot_installer_ILI9338 0x80600000 ?
Thanks a lot for the help by the way. :)

You have to type the actual file name. If your hwinit is named "hwinit_ILI9338.bin", that's what you have to enter. If you renamed it to something else, you have to type that other name.
