Hi, folks.

Just picked up one of these little corkers! Seems great so far.

But I have installed Dingux using the idiots guide and during Dingux boot up I get the following error message...

"cannot run '/usr/local/sbin/main': No such file or directory"

I know I've probably done something really stupid (is this something to do with having no menu system? Sorry, I'm a total n00b when it comes to this kinda thing) but I should just point out that I did have a few problems putting files on the SD card. Advice anyone?

Anyway, this seems to be a great community and I hope to get the best out of my Dingoo on forums like this. Thank you.

Hi Stevie

looks like you dont have installed files to the local directory.
If you are new to dingux, I recommend you take toddlers local pack. you can find it here

Cheers.

Sorry, I didn't explain that properly at all!

I tried downloading a pack and it didn't seem to download correctly. I'll try again.

Thanks for your help though. I figured this may have been the problem and just wanted it clarified. Hope I didn't sound like a complete n00b! ;)

ok, I've tried again, still no avail.

There appear to be missing files in Toddler's local pack. I'm downloading the top file. Is that right?

Message now is - Failed to load res/wallpaper/wallpaper.png

I am not using the actual version, so I cant reproduce this.
Try the local v0.31. Maybe this works for you.

If you mean the first file in toddlers thread on dingoonity, this one is only an update from 0.32 to 0.32a, take the 0.32 package, copy this to your sd card and if you want to be up to date, copy the 0.32a package on the sd card afterwards.

Ok, here are the error messages I'm getting when I try to extract to my mini SD.

Error 80004005: Unspecified error

This is on the mame file, mamefront file, mamefront PNG image, readme text doc, whatsnew text doc, rootfs file

It says it cannot find calc, cpu, cmu, greader2x, lgpt, read, volset, xgt, dmenu, openmsx, fba320, artwork, cfg, frontend, hi, inp, memcard, nvram, roms, samples, skins, snap, sta, nofrendo, openmsx, Picodrive, pituka, scummvm, sdlgnuboy, smsplus, snes9x, stella, uPCE, VICE, etc, games, home, lib, ports, sbin and share within the zip file.

Did I miss something? Are these files even supposed to be there, do I download them seperate, or is this file corrupted? I tried 31 and 32.

At this point, try reformatting your microSD card. Then, download toddler's .32 and .32a packs. DO NOT extract them directly to your microSD card. Instead, extract .32 and .32a in separate folders. Copy the contents of .32a over the contents of .32. Then, copy those files to your microSD card.

The root of your microSD card should now have the foler "local", and the files "rootfs", and "zImage".

Holy crap! Works!

There appear to be some missing miles (most of the games) but Dingux finally boots up properly and a few emulators seem to work. Ta very muchly!
