No Kin, it was not the same you reformatted and I had to by a new card?I have to say this thing is amazing! Big thanks to anybody involved in boot, firmware and emulator creation.

when i try to copy zImage and rootfs to the miniSD card it doesnt work. it will just start copying say that it copied them, but nothing happened. does anyone have any ideas on how to work with this?
this is the error i get
Error while copying "zImage".
There was an error copying the file into /media/CF53-2690.
Error splicing file: Input/output error

the same thing shows up for rootfs

i have this error
* Observation: Dingux error message: cannot run '/usr/local/sbin/main': No such file or directory
* Symptom: Main menu (shell) missing.
* Cause: Dingux loads the local/sbin/main executable on start. If there is no file, nothing will execute.
* Solution: Put a shell-script or application there, ideally a menu like Dmenu or DinguXMB. Or, if you want them both, check here.

but i cant figure out what to do once i know that this is whats wrong. i want to use gmenu2x and i really just have no idea about how to go about fixing this install error. help please

Download a menu like gmenu2x and change the local/sbin/main to run it, described in the readme of the menu.

i have done as described and made folders local/gmenu2x and local/sbin with "main" from localpack 0.35 inside of sbin, but when booting install it still says that //usr/local/sbin/main doesn't exist or can't access. do i need to put /usr/ infront of local or is there some other thing that i'm missing? should i copy all of the contents of localpack 0.35 onto my sd and than try installing?

copied everything from localpack0.35 and it worked

when I type

"usbtool-win 1 zImage_dual_boot_installer_ILI9331 0x80600000"

in command prompt, I get

"[ERR] Could not allocate memory."

whats going on?

make sure you're in Administrator, and check to see if your card is formatted FAT32

It has nothing to do with the card as he's trying to flash the bootloader.
Also the error comes from within the usbtool. Be sure to check you typed the right command, not missed any digits, etc. Also check if your Dingoo is in usbboot mode.

Here's my contribute for the "freeze at Dingux splash screen" issue:

(note I have an 8gb sd, using windows XP)
- google "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" (it's an executable)
- format fat32

The noticable difference after formatting with the HP formatting tool is:
- the transferspeed of my SD is alot faster
- on previous attempts formatting with windows (even in CMD with 32k blocksize) i ended up with 7.7gb
with HP tool I ended up with 7.9gb

Finishing touch:
- put zImage / rootfs / etc.... back on the sd
- hold SELECT en restart, IT WORKS!

Thanks, the format with this tool helped me with my dingux splash screen stuck

that, btw, didn't solve my problem. It only worked with the formatting.

But if the problem appears after using the card for a while, the forced together defrag may help.

I have 'Segmention fault' version.
I've tried CHKSDK - there was nothing to repair.
I've tried reformatting - no changes.
What else left to do?

I'm thinking reformatting, as CHKDSK usually doesn't help much anyway, but is not so drastic as formatting.

Try another utility to format your card, and if that doesn't help try deleting and creating a partition on the card.

My dingoo keept freezing at the boot with the dingux logo, solved by formatting the card with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, NOTHIING else could fix it. I THINK that this only formats rebuilding the partition table and setting the bootable flag, not sure.

what means "Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt"? It appears if I select too big clock for link in Gmenu2x. It starts about 410-420 MHz.

Well, some dingoos can overclock more and others less.

For example, i reach 445Mhz unstable, for example, but some people barely reaches the 385Mhz with stability.

Just lower your clock until its fine.

But I can perfectly set 430 MHz in app, like picodrive.

Yes you can. Tough it will crash, you just have to find your very own max overclock value in this case. Most dingoos can overclock to 430Mhz, but some cant, so you just have to keep it a little lower.
