RIOT Tag-Team Coding Competition
« on: April 17, 2011, 11:46:53 pm »

Announcement
I have decided to organize a cross-platform  coding competition for our favorite handhelds. Of course, every  competition must have some conditions, and this one requires you to  team up with one or more of your fellow  members to produce a game. We  hope this will bring people together and spur collaboration across  platforms and professions.

Genre
There is no limit to genre, but it has to be a game, new and original, so no ports or emulators.

Platforms
You  can submit a game for the following platforms: Pandora, Caanoo, Wiz,  Dingux. You can also submit your game for several of the platforms.

Prizes
I  have put up 100 euro to the winner and I hope you will donate more to the prize pool, so we can provide prizes for 2nd-4th place as  well. The  prize pool is common between the platforms.

Submitting
You have to submit by the end of 25th June 2011. Details on how to submit will be posted on the website later.

Voting
Members of the communities will rank their favorite games, and this will be used to determine the winner.
After  the submission deadline, all games will be made available for download,  and members of the community can rank their favorites until end of 8th  July 2011.

Winner
The winners will be announced 10th July 2011 and will receive their prize on 17th July 2011.

Good luck and have fun :)

P.s. To moderators, if this is not the correct section to announce this competition, please move it as appropriate. And feel free to post it on the blog as well.

I know what you mean. I hope to see something 3D too... just because it is so rare.

Hi everyone,

i wanted to ask, who is participating, or planning to participate in the competition?

I also want to encourage everyone to make a thread about your project (and tell me about it), because i plan to find some mid-way bonus prizes. It is also to your benefit to keep a public profile as it will be the public voting for your game :) It will also give more awareness to the competition meaning more participants, and more donations (<--click me) etc.

Another request. Is there anyone who would like to be the Dingoo representative on the competition panel? The job is about taking decisions on problems or matters regarding the competition, so that it doesn't become a one-man show. This includes discussing complaints we receive, how to find a winner if not enough people vote, or not enough games are submitted etc. I expect there to be very little work needed, and is mostly for "emergencies." If you are not participating, are mature and respected, this is the perfect opportunity to help out.

Keep me posted,

Regards
Uni

Hi everyone.

I've decided to make a small blog on the website in order to keep people up-to-date on the competition. It has an rss feed, so feel free to bookmark to keep current, as it is impossible for me to spread news to every corner of the internet :) Many places i cannot even figure out how to log in, other places i cannot post links, so please spread the word.

First order of business: Prize pool (<-- save the pandas) has reached 300 Euro.

Regards
Uni

P.s. I hope no one gets offended by the panda joke

Hi Monstercrunch

It's a cool effect. I like it, especially on the left side where it looks like it is part of the surrounding circle. Would you like to make the splash screen? I have not entirely decided, but i might not want to touch the logo. I am branding the logo, so it should not be distorted. But that said, i also should probably write "RIOT Tag-Team competition" shouldn't i? Or is the logo enough?

I didn't seen it --'

If you want I can do the splash screen, send me the pictures that you want to put on, and I will try to do something cool (I'm not a very good artist you know ^^').

Hi everyone. I'm not sure everyone noticed. I proposed a 2 week extension on the deadline. How do developers submitting feel about that?
