Just tried it and it still boots into gmenu - any Ideas?

btw - it would be good if you could activate it through Gmenu :-)

I'm also having trouble getting this to work, which files need to be on the Dingoo? I see some messages of PSfreedom, but it keeps hanging. If anyone has got this working please give some more details.

You only need to boot the kernel. Nothing more.

The patch file is only, if you want to compile the kernel yourself. Use a newer gmenu2x version to get rid of the gmenu2x loading problems. The one from QI works fine.

The other instructions are the same a psgroove or other PSFreedom hacks. Just use google or watch a youtube video about it ;-).

worked fine to me the first time : just replace the zimage with the new one (temporary killing dingux !) then the dingoo will boot in a strange stripped screen. plug it through USB to the PS3 and voil?....

But maybe the dingoo needs to be fully charged? or the PS3 on/off eject sequence to respect a certain rythm. Now all I get is "peripherique USB inconnu" (unknown USB device detected).

But well, it worked so it will work again; would be improved if something was happening on the screen when it's connected...

Great work anyway.

That's strange. When I replace it, it looks the same! What rootfs are you guys using? I still can't get this thing to jailbreak the PS3 and it's driving me nuts. The PS3 is at 3.41, I replaced the zImage with the exploit one. I went ahead and reinstalled Gmenu2x but I don't think that changed anything.

so what are the chances of this being ported to the dingoo native?

cannot get access to sd as it's knackered, or running dingux from internal memory?

cheers

the zimage replacing the ancient one, Dingux is no more working once it's modified ; no need then to mess up with local directory that will remain useless. The rootfs is the last one in my case and so it's working fine; guess you have to be careful again which image you choose according to your scrren model.

The hack itself is pretty random : depends when you press eject and how long; if it's not working, the dingoo will be automatically and immediatly "recognized" as an unknown device. Else you should be able to access the "new" functions.

When active, the Dingoo 's screen is full of lines !

Hope it helps but well, nice exploit again

What ps3 do you have? I guess it doesn't matter what rootfs you use, as long you got the right zImage?

I just like to add, that it has been said before (on ps3 related sites), that using any ps3 (usb related) hack, will leave traces on your ps3 system even when your not using the hack anymore and that sony (like microsoft), will probably start banning ps3's (not accounts) from online services soon ! it probably uses the mac address of the ps3 to do this, so when you do get banned, creating a new psn account will have no effect !

Playing online with the hack active is even more stupid but i don't have to explain that :)

Works for me. Just comment out anything to do with gmenu in your main file located in the sbin folder of your local. Also after shutting down the ps3 when you are done playing  i had to hard reset the dingoo and go into native and then switch it off before it would work again. Make sure that the dingoo is plugged in and booted to the ifconfig part before turning the ps3 on. Thanks so much for this.

a slim one.

Noticed something : the patterns shown on the dingoo may vary and it's working only when "flashing" a certain way. I guess I should take a picture...

first is the right one, the others are wrong; well, maybe it's just coincidence and it feels quite random (adding the fact you have to press quickly the eject button) but once it's started...

stupid me : took the wrong zimage ! forget about the funny pictures !

In fact, you have some messages , looping, something about led backlight (missing maybe in my dingux installation?)

until it hacks the ps3.

PSfreedom Gadget : JAILBROKEN !!!! DONE !!
PSfreedom Gadget : Congratulations ...

Here is a little tip - before you install a game to the HDD make sure theres no updates first,
If there is - install updates before installing the game to the HDD - otherwise you get an error massage
When trying to install the newly downloaded update

Also - once the hack is loaded and the manager boots you can unplug the dingoo and
and install games play games ect as long as you dont turn off the console,
If you do turn off and back on again the the manager dont boot.....

BTW - I was playing Half Life Orange Box from HDD.....rocks man!!!

cheers ruffnutts  ;)

I got this working last night, but I really wasn't sure until this morning. My Dingoo would boot up but come up to a screen of scrolling text saying that it couldn't find /user/sbin/main, however with it plugged into the PS3 everyone once in a while on a cold boot I would see another message saying something about psfreedom gadget. None-the-less the PS3 would not boot. So I did a little more research and it turns out that PSGroove only works properly with PS3 firmware 3.41. I downloaded 3.41 last night while I was asleep, applied it this morning, and bam! been playing God of War 3 off my internal hard drive all day.

Its funny - my dingoo still works while plugged in I can browse the gmenu2x might try playing a game to lol

@RodrigoCard yeah I see you point - I only want to play the games I got from HDD for faster loading times,
Also love to see some emulators like dreamcast and psx 1 and 2 - I live in the uk but have a US console
60GB and I think it is backwards compatable but I have no original NTSC games....
