Problems with Dingux and Dmenu
« on: October 17, 2009, 04:50:55 pm »
So I flashed my Dingoo, but dmenu won't start up. The Dingux logo pops up, but that's it. It gets stuck from there.

I have everything packed into my SD card and stuff too.

I don't know if this has to do with me using a Mac or what. Do I HAVE to use a Windows computer to do the SD Card stuff? I'm pretty sure I formatted it to FAT32 as it says FAT32 in DiskUtility.

Any ideas?

Firstly I would try reformatting the card and just adding the local image files to the card, see if it boots up then.

After a long chat session in #dingoo-a320, I think I have the problem solved.

It was something about my Mac formatting the card. Word has been sent to booboo.

Big thanks to mth and Kassad from #dingoo-a320 for their help.

I think multiple FAT32 formatting methods on multiple systems should be recorded to help people troubleshoot their sd card problem. Apparently not all FAT32 are compatible (which sounds like complete bull, but apparently does make a difference).
Write/save problems? Segmentation faults? Black screens? Read the Troubleshooting and FAQ guide first to fix your issues! :)
SD Card readonly/corruption issues? Chkdisk /F and steer clear from DMenu: use GMenu instead!
