It doesn't work like that.
Porting linux to new devices is a really hard and slow process that often requires reverse-engineering many hardware parts and writing the drivers from scratch. Nobody's gonna waste a year of his life just to port linux to your device.

correction: porting a version fo linux that's been customised for the dingoo XD

I don't quite see how you can port an Ingenic jz4740 kernel to ARM 11 device, not mentioning the LCD drivers and so on.. ;)

You just have to write a MIPS emulator for ARM. Off you go ;D
TBH, that's the only thing I don't like about my Dingoo: the fact that it doesn't use an ARM compatible processor, I'm sure we'd have a lot more interest from developers.
That and the mediocre shoulder buttons. And the MiniSD slot instead of MicroSD. But that's really it now :D ARM core + decent shoulder buttons + microSD and I'd keep my Dingoo until I die, and I'd get buried with it!
