I have the following problem after running it:

Can't create proc/;z/imem nonexistant directory

Anyone see this before?

I guess this may sound stupid, but I thought I had placed the kernel correctly. I assume you mean the zImage file in the original Mplayer archive?

Where should it be?

Just to clarify, the zImage "zImage_9331_ipu" for the Mplayer should become "zImage" in root?

I tried that, and Dingux won't load at all with that new zImage. 9331 is the correct version for me.

I remember in the instructions for Mplayer, it said "zImage_9331_ipu" for the Mplayer should become "zImage2" in root, but while Dingux loads, it has the error I referred to earlier.

The normal zImage I had before worked fine, so I don't think it's the SD card?

Is it possible I didn't configure or install the mplayer files correctly instead? Or maybe this new zImage for Mplayer isn't quite compatible with something on my system?

This is what I did:

dingux-mplayer basic readme:

1. copy the appropriate kernel-image to your sd and rename it to zImage - I used the patched version from http://a320.freeforums.org/mplayer-with-rmvb-supported-for-dingux-t1512.html
2. copy mplayer.dge to local/mplayer or anywhere else on your sd
3. copy config and input.cfg to home/.mplayer - I only saw input.conf so I made a copy of it and renamed it to input.cfg. There's input.cfg AND input.conf in home/.mplayer

You can either create a new entry in dmenu like:

MenuItem MPLAYER
{
Icon = "res/media/gmu.png"
Name = " Mplayer"
Executable = "./mplayer.dge scrat.avi"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/mplayer"
}

@benoitb so the quality is pretty much the same after conversion as the original (albeit on a smaller scale), right?

Yes you don't loose any visual quality on the Dingoo's screen.
