Dingux or open dingux? On my new dingoo
« on: May 25, 2012, 05:34:29 pm »
Hi I just got my dingoo today first thing I done was get the duel boot installer on there no problems the I had a 32gb card ready for dingux poped it in all worked fine with gemenu what I want to know id dingux or open dingux better and for open dingux I can see you just choose your zimage according to your LCD screen and roofs download gemenu is built into the kernell so just drop your files on root. I think that's write what I would also like to know are most dingux stuff compatible with open dingux? Thank you in advance any help would be appreciated.

I?d say it depends on exactly what you want to play.  But I will say that the jump from Dingux to open dingux is a piece of cake, so you can always change, which is what I did. When I installed Dingux the Mega Drive Emuator was just as slow as the native one, so I changed to open dingux and it ran a lot faster.  Maybe other members can give you their input, but as I said, if dingux doesn?t convince you, the jump to open dingux is a breeze. When you call the jump 'a breeze' is it literally just switching files around or what? What exactly does the switch entail?

I think the best bet for most people right now is the Science kernel and the minimal local pack found here on the forum. If you've got a spare card, I would recommend setting one up with that and another up with the latest Open Dingux pre-release. There are a few things that seem to run better on OD at the moment, and it's nice to experiment with the next big thing. OD is very polished already, there just isn't a huge volume of software for it yet.

I think you'll find that the Mega Drive and SNES will run just about any game you throw at them.  Mame is an animal all unto itself when it comes to compatibility, lol, but if I'm not mistaken, the emu does come with a rom list, so if you haven't checked it out yet, you might want to give it a look.
