DINGOO PROBLEM....

Edited By Sonic Shocker:
The original post below was about DINGOO in general, but after hearing other peoples comments i think.. that i may have a Faulty TV-OUT
Jump to the bottom video to take a look.. Or.. read the original post 'left intact' below this line

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was wondering if the problem of 'slow down' on tv-out would ever get sorted on the dingoo ?

I know that the defualt cps1 emulator on tv-out is fine.. and was possibly created by dingoo themselves
But nearly every 'emulator made by others' and 'dingux base emulators' have a real hard time on tv-out with emence slow down.. and overclocking options dont seem to work at all.

Is this because the programmers have no idea on how to inplement the tv-out setting for a dingoo ?

I am sorry if im am being a bit blunt about this but its starting to get to me.. as i downloaded one of my favorite emu's "PCE ENGINE" and tv-out really sucks :(

tv-out is very important to me.. and its seems that the dingoo has no chance of competing with other handhelds as say, the Caanoo.

Im am just hoping that im doing something wrong or there is a simple solution... but i think not.

No emulator is written by any of the Dingoo companies, they simply took open sourced emulators and ported them.

TV-out is slow because the CPU clock runs at the native frequency (slower) when in TV-out mode. With Dingux this can be overcome and you can overclock to a higher frequency, and therefore experience much smoother TV-out.

Thanks.. for the reply Frank,
But i have yet to find Any Dingux Emulators (that did not come with dingoo) that overcome's the slow down even with overclocking on any emulator on tv-out..

Which emulators run good on Tv-out with overclocking ?

Even if u choose most basic settings on emulators like: 8 bit sound and mono, no v sync, no screen buffering, 420mhz overclock..sometimes less is better, frameskip of say 5, and blah blah.. it never works...

Still no joy on any emu on tv-out.. cant get anything to even equal the speed of the in-built screen speed at all.
i cannot see the small screen vary well as i am long sighted and need to be at least 3 foot away to focus.

if anyone can recommend an emu other than Snes, CPS1, CPS2, & Scummvm
that is supposed to run ok on tv-out with overclock or not..
i will post a tv-output video of my dingoo going slow

Hold on a minute.. maybe i have a faulty dingoo ???

ANY HELP IS A WELCOME.

Is this games running slower than usual, or just delays between keypresses and the video output? I have the latter with my tv set, but tv-out works without such lags on other tv sets. So I guess my problem is TV related, not Dingoo.

Thanks Zear, I am truly greatful for any reply..

I also thought my 'TV' might be the issue... But if unplug the tv lead the emulation does sound does not speed up after.

But I will try another TV to rule out this..as it sounds like you guys are getting good speeds and i have heard nothing but good reviews on the dingoo.

As for the type of lag.. or slowdown question you asked i can only say both delay and slowdown
But cps1 & cps2 are OK.. its funny that the smaller the graphics the harder time my dingoo has.. on tv out
(IE) Nes is one of the slowest.
But trust me when i say i have tried every setting on every emulator i can think of.. but tv-out is real bad
ON ANY EMULATOR Dingux or not.

If you guys dont mind..  and i get the time
i will make a video and post here.. showing me altering all settings on most emulators on tv-out.

If anyone has any other sugestions or think it could be a faulty dingoo i would like to here from you.

I have no issues with tvout on the native and dingux side of things. Try running some of the emulators in open dingux while overclocked and see what happens.

Hi qbertaddict,

It does not matter what emulator i use 'native or linux' even overclocked.. as i tried to show in the video later on i started altering the settings in the video and NOTHING changes at all.. it just stays the same speed.

I could leave overclock on 200Mhz, 300Mhz, 330Mhz, 420Mhz and i cannot see a single bit of change,
check the video above... Now off tv-out is a different story it does speed up.

The reason i am asking you guys is because: "i dont know IF this normal for the dingoo on tv-out"
as this is my first dingoo, ..i know its an emulator console.. so this could just be the norm.

I have seen the GP2X Caanoo emulate these things on tv-out perfectly and was told that the Dingoo was just as good.
But maybe they too never saw tv-out,

Due to the lack of replies on this topic i can only think that it is normal behaveier ! otherwise someone would of said so.

:o
