Battery life - How long does YOUR battery last while...
« on: February 11, 2011, 01:25:42 pm »
Hi there, I recently received my a320 from 0shippingzone. And since I recently lost my ipod I am thinking about ordering a big memory card so I can save music and listen to.

I was wondering (aproximately) how long battery time you guys have, both in native and dingux, when:
1. Playing GBA
2. Listen to music
3. Do some of both.

/ Jonis

P.s. Also, is the musicplayer in Dingux better than the native one?

I prefer GMU over native music player. When I had lots of sounds\music on my card the native player hanged my dingoo.

GMU lets you make playlists view tags and most stuff you would expect from music playing program. However you don't have equalizer of any kind, you can't rewind your songs(or at least I haven't figured out how to do that). Also I noticed that in GMU the playback ends before the last chunk of mp3(one or two seconds of a track).

The native player gives you some kind of equalization, but its all preset.
Edit: Guess I was wrong.

As for battery life, I've been "listening" almost nonstop in the native music player for 11hrs, I believe. And I still have 2 out of 3 bars of battery left, thoug I suspect that it will soon be just 1. The preset equalizer have been normal and rock, and the volume has shifteed between 10 and 15, with an average of 13.

Not being able to rewind songs (wich in itself is kind of odd) is not that much of a problem for me. Not having a equalizer is too bad. (I usually just go with presets and find the one I like the most, although it would have been nice if I'd been able to adjust them some.)

Ending before the track is finished though, what's up with that?  :o

Native has preset and user defined eq as well. just go to the settings.

In addition to presets you can rewind, see http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-general/quick-reference-card/  ;)

Ah, in GMU select+l/r = skip 10 seconds. Thank you for the link, now I don't have to try and figure out all the shortcuts by myself!

BTW, about the battery, I?ve played gba - minish cap for about 2-3 hours yesterday, and when I woke up it was still 2/3 of the battery remaining. Now I've been playing for about an hour and the battery dropped to 1/3.

I still think that about 12-13 hrs of music and then 3 hours gba is great. And I'm "only" down to 1/3.

Here I was, worried that the battery wouldn't last for more than a couple of hours.  (Although I am using the screen set to the lowest brightness.)

Update: I played about another half an hour and the battery died. I guess gaming draing a lot more power than music (naturally) but maybe my battery isn't as great as I thought. I'll have to see how long I can play with afull battery next time.

Did I just loose my game now? Is there a way to get a warning like, a minute before it turns off?

(Just to clarify, I was referencing to GMU in my post. Not the native player. I didn't see any shortcuts for equalizer preset in GMU. I'm guessing that's what you meant. Are there any?)

As far as I know there is only and eq for the native player not gmu or inkl player.

I don't dare to open mine, in case something goes wrong when I'm fiddling with the battery or something like that...
