Urban Brawl For DoomGOO??
« on: January 16, 2010, 08:49:37 pm »
I was wondering if anyone can get this mod working. It loads up but then I get a sound error when I try to start a game. The download url is here: http://action.mancubus.net/. I just downloaded the file then extract the wad file over to the Dingoo.

Thanks

This mod is for GzDoom, and i believe that DoomGoo is PrBoom based.

That's correct. Some people (me included) requested a ZDoom port as it supports other games besides DooM (Strife being the main feature), but no luck there so far... :(

Looks like you won't be getting the mod running for now.
Write/save problems? Segmentation faults? Black screens? Read the Troubleshooting and FAQ guide first to fix your issues! :)
SD Card readonly/corruption issues? Chkdisk /F and steer clear from DMenu: use GMenu instead!

ZDoom uses fmod, and fmod isn't opensource. So an eventual port would be sound-less.

I'm having trouble finding the ZDoom forums thread Graf Zahl mentions in the link - I suspect it may be this one but I'm not seeing any attachments or links to code or anything useful like that.

Honestly, though, I'm not sure how useful a ZDoom port would be. A lot of ZDoom exclusive mods are very resource intensive.
