Linux games on the dingoo?
« on: February 13, 2013, 04:26:58 pm »
I'm just wondering about how Linux games are ported to run under dingux? I'd really like to be able to play Super Smash Land [http://www.supersmashland.com/] on my dingoo, but I don't know how I'd go about achieving this or if its even possible. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

In order to make a game run on the Dingoo A320/GCW Zero, you need to take the source code and recompile it for MIPS cpu architecture using the tool set we released.

In your case, the game was constructed using a software called Game Maker rather than written from scratch in a programming language (like C/C++). That means the authors of this game don't have source code to this game and the only way this game could be made to run on Dingoo A320/GCW is by convincing the Game Maker authors to recompile their software for MIPS Linux.

tl;dr, you can't port this game to Dingoo A320/GCW Zero.

Yeah, I didn't think it'd be very easy. Thanks so much!
