Flash player for games on dingux?
« on: December 17, 2012, 08:43:00 am »
Old question, but no results:
Anyone working on Flashplayer with keyboard / mouse support for playing flash games?
I'd like to see this on my dingoo.

Not sure if the dingoo would even be powerful enough. Flash player is very resource heavy (not to mention buggy and on it's way to the grave), so kinda not worth the time it would take at all. Not to mention adobe pulled flash/air support for linux ages ago, and that would be the closest you'd get for sure.

Just to clarify - we're not even talking about the adobe's flash plugin. There is no source code for it, so we can't physically port it. We're talking about separate flash language interpreters, based on whatever few pieces of information about the language specification Adobe has released, guessing games and reverse engineering. So even if we somehow ported Gnash or whatever else there is, most of your games would have glitches, if they ran at all.
Who's to blame? Adobe - popularizing a closed format with a narrow range of compatible platforms.
