welcome!
and thanks:)
-
Thanks for the hard work toddler! Good to see you again. I'm still running v.29, definitely need to upgrade.
The new psx4all port was pretty unexpected wasn't it? I have yet to try it, but I'm pretty excited about it. I imagine it will make it into V0.32.
-
Thanks for all your job, you'll can added PSX4all ;)
-
now this is what i call extremely useful :)
-
Thanks, but where I can find valve folder?
And are you plan to add psx4all to pack?

I'm afraid you will have to find the valve folder yourself, it is not something we can distribute or link to on this forum.

OK, but what valve folder? from original half-life ver 1.0.0.9? Or another?
-
Next Local should be called Local v1.0
-
Thanks Great post
Keep up the good work toddler cant wait for PSX4all to be added bit early days at mo i think tho
Thanks AGAIN
-
I am preparing a new version. ;)
-
Toddler, I really apreciate your work. I made a update for your last image, so, if it can help you, the address is : http://rapidshare.com/files/294826199/local031update.zip
I made only a update mainly because of PSX but I think next local will surpass 250mb, so I think it is better to make only updates and when the decimal change (ex 0.39 to 0.4) put a complete local. But it?s only my opinion.
I will be glad if my local helps someone.
Regards!
-
Hi,
sorry my english is bad. Thank you for 0.31a. I did gain time for the new version.
-
Always when I change the newer rootfs file with my older existing one, Dingux doesn't boot, but freezes at the Dingux title screen?
-
neither one of those hosting sites are working for me at all. can anyone post it up on a free site?
storage.to says
"Please wait. Free users may only download a few files per hour.
Premium Accounts do not have that limitation."
uploading.com says
"Your IP address is currently downloading a file.
Please wait until the downloading process has been completed. "
-
Can someone please DL this and put it on mediafire or something? please?

Did you try post#11's link from mauromartins?
-
That link is just an upgrade not the full package
-
That link is just an upgrade not the full package
Oh I thought due to the size of it it was an updated 0.31 with psx4all pre-configured.
-
so any chance someone is gonna put a different link up for me?
-
I'm having the same problem as Athlon. Actually, I was able to download it before, but the 3 times I tried the download kept ending before it was done (so I had a <250mb corrupt file). Now I can't even start downloading.
Terrible, terrible hosting service. Please upload somewhere usable. Heck, a torrent would be fine.
-edit- and for reference, it's not a bad net connection. At home I've got very reliable (albiet slow) DSL. At work I have a blazing fast ethernet connection - 6-9MB/second download speeds (that's megaBYTE not megaBIT) are not uncommon. In short, my connection is not the issue.

I had the same issue with the corrupted file. I had to wait about 3 hours before I could dl it again correctly, even so the connection was so slow it took 55 min just to download it. I agree with opinckc, a different hosting service needs to be in order. I'll see what i can do about hosting the current release with the upgrade on my site. give me a lil bit and ill get back to you.

Ok here is toddler's package with mauromartin's upgrade as well, http://www.stilwellcreations.com/downloads/local-0.31a.zip (http://www.stilwellcreations.com/downloads/local-0.31a.zip)

Be aware that it has the ipu-enabled kernel (to make mplayer work) and it can impact the performance in emulators.
-
athlon - Thanks! I did finally get the uploading.com file to work but I greatly appreciate you hosting the updated one!
toddler - Thank you for making this package! Everyone involved for their work as well!
remax - do you have more info on the ipu-enabled kernel? How much of a performance hit? Are there any compatibility issues (either apps that work or don't work) other than mplayer requiring it?
Thanks again for the help!
-
It's only a supposition made by the ones who released mplayer : if i don't make a mistake, ipu require memory and it might impact apps that needs a lot of memory. I have not heavily tested this kernel but i felt a little loss of performance sometimes.
But i have not tested applications like psx4all that might be more impacted.
As i know, only mplayer needs ipu. Myself, i put back the zimage of 0.31 (that have the shutdown code but not the ipu enabled) and erased mplayer and had no problem with everything else.
-
Ipu is used only to play RMVB videos. I think if you don?t use rmvb, you still can play videos in mplayer with older zImage. But I will test it in my house (im in unniversity now).
By the way, i?m using kernel with IPU enabled and scoring the same FPS in PSX emulation. Actually, Cotton is marked at slow here, and Im playing it at 45~50 fps consistenly. (sorry, my english is a little bad, Im working hard to improve it!).
Im planning to release a new update in the next days, if you think its better to remove mplayer, I will remove it. That?s not a big deal, because the native player is a very competent one ;)
-
Toddler, can you upload the icons in a separately file ?
I really love to use your icons pack but I don?t have a good connection to download all local ;)
-
Thanks for uploading all the stuff Toddler.
Do you plan making smaller update packages, like you did earlier (on other forum)?
p.s. There is also nice 'Simple' theme/skin ( http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-games-and-homebrew/dmenu-simple/ ) that you can add in further updates.
-
I really don't want to download 250mb+ every week or so...
Can anyone tell me how to install DoomGoo and the TI-91 and Dingux Write as well?
I'm super stuck on these problems...

-
Please don't use IPU-enabled kernel in your official releases.
It only negatively effects the games' speed.
Especially eduke32. A majority of mods just freeze on the IPU-enabled kernel.
And it should have an effect on PSX emu as well, as it uses maximum of the dingoo resources.

This (v0.32) release returns errors while loading - missing files (I copied everything, double-checked = it's not my fault) like 'cap.png', 'coleco.png' in 'emulators' icons folder (theme/skin -> res).
Am I the only one that had to make extra .png files to run v0.32?
---EDIT---
After adding 'cap.png' & 'coleco.png' to every 'emulator' folder in 'themes' Dingux works just fine.

No roblems here, everything worked fine.

hello,
yesterday I've installed Dingux on my brother A320 and I've found a bug. I was testing some ROMS on FBA320 and one of them actually crashed FBA320 and Dingux. In past local packs version, you only need to reset the dingoo but with 0.3x pack (maybe since last dmenu update), when you reset the dingoo to launch Dingux again, you will see the boot sequence then a black screen like if the A320 is shutdown.
After some research I've found that following the crash of the ROM, the config files of dmenu (/local/.dmenu) were empty. The files are there but empty. When you fill them with defaul init value for sound volume and brightness, Dingux will boot again normaly.
++
Bruno.
-
You can use the Brightness and Volume Buttons X and R2 to adjust Brightness and Volume again, so you don't have to manually edit the ini.
-

True... but in my case it is not applicable since Dingux can not boot anymore if the 2 config files are missing (the boot sequence just loop) or if they are empty (the dingoo is shutdown after boot sequence)...
-
Didn't had this case, in my case it always LOOKED like the Dingoo shuts down after boot sequence, but after a while I learned that it was only brightness set to zero.

I'll try again tonight to confirm that!
-
dmenu0.4 not stable. more logical to use the previous version. I'll make updates and patches.
-
Hi Toddler
Firstly. you really do a great job on dingux scene.
I have installed dingux recently on my Dingoo but I still face a problem that I can't solve it through your updates.
When dingux starts everything is fine. When I alter the volume on the menu with the shoulder buttons and I restart, Dingoo never switch on again. After dingux boot the screen becomes blank and no action can be taken except reset.
If I copy the oriiginal "home" folder back to SD everything works fine again. This is really an annoying situation and I can't figure out what I do wrong. I have also to mention that the memory I use is a 4GB SDHC formatted to FAT32. After formatting I just copied the local-0.32 files on it. I have the same effect with the previous versions as well.
Could you please help me?
Thank you in advance
-
Terios68,
Try pressing 'X'. It's possible you're running in to the bug where your brightness starts at zero. Pressing 'X' will raise the screen brightness.
-
Thanx...I will try this way.I think,it shouldn't be something so simple because none of the keys are responsive, the screen is switched off and if it was only the brigtness, the clicking menu sound should be still audible when pressing left-right. The dingoo is freezing and only reset is able to reboot it again
-
No sound is audible, cause to this bug sound is set to 0 too. Had the same problems several times after some emulators crashed and I had to reset. First times I thought buttons were not responsive too, but I just didn't tried the X button.
By the way, how do you restart? I think it is critical to restart your Dingoo via Reboot, otherwise I think the values aren't saved.
EDIT: Thanks toddler for 0.32a
-
The Reboot option wasn't something that I have been aware of. I'll try again today to alter the volume and Reboot Dingux in order to have settings saved.
Is it a bug that could be fixed in near future dingux package versions?
-
Seems to be a bug of dmenu 0.4 (at least the black screen after a crash), toddler used dmenu 0.3 again for the latest update to 0.32a
-
Just updated to 0.32a thanks to Toddler. I just noticed that Doomgoo doesn't work anymore. Do I have to alter anything? All the required files are in the right places and it worked fine for 0.32.
-
At last, everything worked fine with me!!!! The X button modified the brightness and the sound worked perfectly.
Thanx guys!!!
-
Are the local images still downloadable? The links in the top post do not work for me. Or is it too busy on the Megaupload site?
-
works fine, except shutdown.
good work, toddler !
The downloads still seem to work, btw.
But there are other users complaining about problems with megaupload. :-[
-
@Toddler:
i hope you can add the package install feature in the next release as explained here:
http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-development/how-to-manage-software-packages-with-ipkg-in-dingux/ (http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-development/how-to-manage-software-packages-with-ipkg-in-dingux/)
-
First of all, thanks so much for this. As a first time user, it was really great to see my new Dingoo transform into an even more incredible machine than I thought it was in the first place!
Secondly, I've had a few issues, sadly. DoomGoo doesn't work for me either and also, some of the themes or wallpapers appear to be corrupt. When I've tried to change it, my Dingoo sometimes crashes and says it can't find a picture file. I've had a look and downloaded the pack a few times but still the same thing happens.
Hopefully I won't have a problem with the next update but for now, I'm truly thankful for what you've given me and many users out there! Cheers!
-
0.32a contains an old version of Just4Qix, the latest version is 0.1 and can be found at

got it
-
thanks for this update, always appreciated.
Can the sound when scrolling the menu be turned off though? i preferred it silent.
-
Great job, I really admire your hard work :-)
I have a little question.
When I delete the games I don't use, will my Dingux be unstable?
Should I change code in some files or ... ?

If you delete games you don't use, make sure to update the theme file to not load games that do not exist. For example:
(assuming windows)
If you delete the game Biniax2, open x:\local\dmenu\themes\<theme you use>\menu_game.cfg (I use notepad++) and remove the following lines:
MenuItem Biniax2
{
Icon = "res/game2.png"
Name = "Biniax2"
Executable = "./biniax2"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/biniax2"
}
This will remove the game from the menu as well. If we (the dingux community) standardize the file extension for executable files, it would be easy to write up a quick script that could do a directory search and automatically populate the menu for dmenu.
Thoughts?

Great man, that just what I was looking for :-)
So I can delete as much as I can from the local map?
As long as I edit this (these) files?
Thank you very much!

Hi,
I have the toddler pack 0.31 a (modified with psx4all) not 0.32, but it's very difficult install an other emulator or homebrews.
I would like to create shortened for hugo (pc engi and and nes).
Sorry my english is not good
Thanks

Technically, you do not need to edit the files... but if you don't you will still have the shortcuts there and the shortcuts won't actually run anything. So it is recommended but not required.

Ok, I got the 0.31 pack (from the Dingoo A320 forum post), and the 0.32a update. How do I apply the update? Also, how do I edit which games are available on the menu (I don't want any of the Doom stuff for example). I have never used Dingux before, and don't even have my memory card just yet, I just want to get everything ready for when it arrives.
-
Not totally sure but v0.32a is an update of v0.32 - so my guess is you would have to update to v0.32 first - before updating to v0.32a,
Because you dont want anything to mess up - I just overwrote every thing on my card and it worked fine :-)
Hope this helped you ruffnutts ;)
BTW: Lets hope toddler gets the news fast and releases a new local pack update with Dmenu 0.5.........
-
Hello,
Please toddler, you can post a new release v0.33 with dmenu 0.5 and nesemu, game .......
Toddler the best of the best
Thank
Bye bye
-
I rewrote the toddler's dmenu.zip a little for dmenu-0.5.
(dmenu.zip : local v0.32 dmenu icon and config pack http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X0HWWNYY (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X0HWWNYY))
Please test this.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/mn2iwzjzzij/dmenu0.5-local32.zip
Sorry , I wrote a wrong path in menu_system.cfg .
Fixed a png file path for FontColor Icon, which did not exist.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/iznew2mmetj/dmenu0.5-local32.zip
Only update "dmenu" script. No new emu, games, apps, themes ...
http://www.mediafire.com/file/wjymmzzdumi/dmenu0.51-local32.zip (http://www.mediafire.com/file/wjymmzzdumi/dmenu0.51-local32.zip)
-
So we replace this with the old files - and it should work?
cheers :)
-
I downloaded toddler's local pack 0.32 and extracted it to my formatted MiniSD.
And then , I overwrite dmenu folder in dmenu0.5-local32.zip to SD:/local/dmenu .
It works for me.
-
Works for me too! Now my own theme is working again! Thx :)
-
I can confirm I just done what you said - I overwrote the Dmenu folder of local v0.32a pack and it works great,
Looks nice as well in green....
Cheers ruffnutts ;D
EDIT: The power off dont work for me though - do I need the rootfs with power off enabled?
-
You need another kernel. Have a look in my signature.
-
Dmenu v0,5 bug with v.32 release toddler.
Finally it's is more interesting to go out v.33 release with new emulator and game
Thank for your work
-
You can release a light release v32 b with dmenu integrate, new emulator, new game, and new player mp3.
I'm very very bad in script.
Thank Thank
Sorry for my english very sorry, i'm frenchi (franco franchoullard)
-
Hello,
Please Can you put the homebrews and emulators released after the Pack 0.32 a ( Icone and shortcut on toddler pack) ?
Thank
Lolo
-
I updated from v0.32 to 0.32a and now I'm getting an error when I try to boot to Dingux:
"menu_system.cfg:27: no such option "SubMenuItem" "
"Unable to load theme config file. rc=1"
I tried copying menu_system.cfg again but it did nothing. What can I do?
Edit: Nvm I got it working.
-
Someone on Dingoo-digital said you had to install v0.32 before installing v0.32a, is this true? I thought all releases were made independent of each other so you wouldn't have to keep stacking them like that.

No, 0.32a is an update to 0.32. You can easily see something like this by checking the Filesize of the pack. The 0.32a File is around 63 MB and the 0.32 File is about 250 MB.
-
It looks as though Toddler has vanished from the face of the Dingoo scene.
-
new version please :'(
-
You might say that Toddler has toddled off ;)
-
I can make a version 0.33 tomorrow, but I don't know if it's ok, to upload it, don't want to mess with toddlers stuff.
-
Guys i have a qustion. Do i need to download v0.31 and 0.32 or all the files are in 0.32? Cause it's a bit confusing, i'd say :P
-

I don't think toddler would mind someone making everyone's life easier.
Please, upload your pack.

OK here it is (http://www.mediafire.com/file/zmygwtotzyx/local pack 0.33.7z)
local pack 0.33
This is my personal update of toddler's great local Pack. It is based on version 0.32a of this pack.
I hope it is ok for you toddler, if I release this version, cause there were many releases since version 0.32a, that I think an update would be necessary. If you don't want this update to be floating around, just give me a sign and I will delete it.
Added

- Dingux-Mancala 1.1.2
Updated:
Emulators
- Dingux-Caprice 1.1.2
- Snes 9x 20091124
- Dingux Hugo 1.1.2
- NESEMU 0.2
Games
- Just4Quix 0.1
Removed
Mplayer - Needs IPU enabled kernel, slows down other applications
Power Off - Function not included in the actual Dingux version
What's not in the readme, cause I forgot it, some of the new games and emulators don't have any icons yet, I am not good at designing icons, if somebody has some, I will make an update, no problem.
I restructured the emulator menu. I gave up the alphabetical order, first now you will find the arcade emulators, after that the home computer systems and last but not least the video game consoles. I also moved ScummVM from emulators to ports, cause it isn't an emulator.
I never managed to get the correct wallpapers shown with dmenu 0.51, if anybody had success, tell me, I will make a patch as well.
-
I appreciate this compilation of software and am downloading it at the current moment.
-
Thank?s for the new version, and thank?s for use mediafire ! :D
I have a question, how i delete unused games and emulators ?
-
What do you mean by unused, the one's you are not using?
Simple by deleting them and correcting all the ini files in the dmenu/themes folder, here you have to remove every entry for every program you deleted, otherwise there will still be an entry in dmenu.
Or do you mean by unused the ones, on your SD card, from a previous pack, that are removed in this pack? Simply delete them.
-
Thank?s for the new version, and thank?s for use mediafire ! :D
I have a question, how i delete unused games and emulators ?
See, I have the samw question, I'd like to delete some stuff, too...but i'm afraid if I do, I'll screw something up...it'll be looking for something not there, and then I'll hang up somewhere...so, for now, I plan on altering my dmenu.cfg file and just commenting out the lines where those Games and Emus I am not using are referenced, so that at least they won't show up in the menu.
That way, I could also bring them back if I ever changed my mind and decided I wanted them after all - not that my ever wanting "Doom" is very likely....
-
Where's the use to manually outcomment the menu entries, and not deleting the program files on the SD card. I mean, if you don't do it for space purposes, why do it at all?
If you don't want the 3D Shooter ports for example, simply delete the cfg file for the ports and the corresponding files. If you want them back, simply copy them back from the local archive.
-

Because I just don't want them to show up on my list, and have to scroll thru stuff I don't want.
Space isn't really an issue. I'm more afraid that something else will call for something in one of those files, or i'll delete the wrong thing, and then screw things up.
-
Does anybody know why the poweroff command doesn't work with local-0.32a?
Yes, it says I can securely switch off the Dingoo, but it freezes the videoconsole forcing me to reboot it manually.
Could be because the zImage has IPU disabled?
-
It's most likely because the kernel wasn't compiled with shutdown option. Simply switch it with the right one.
-
Anybody going to make a dmenu 0.6 package for local-0.32?
-
Using the 0.33 package and simply overwriting the old dmenu directory worked for me.
-
Awesome packs!!
Just thought id say that on .33 the simple theme will freeze the dingoo, and fceu320 doesnt seem to work
-
new update please :'(
-
I will upload version 0.33a in a few hours.
-
A new pack would be very nice, are there icons in this time?
I would appreciate it when the new pack is COMPLETE.
Thanx

I'm so hopelessly lost in all this. :-\ Now that a bunch of us have all gotten our Dingoo's for Xmas It seems these packs are a bit out of date. So what is available at the moment that is not provided in these packs? Does anyone plan on taking over the duties of putting more current stuff together now that Toddler is m.i.a.? I would do it but I wouldn't know where to begin. Is there a site that keeps up to date info on current releases with downloads?
Thanks to everybody for all your efforts!

You can look here for new releases http://www.pdroms.de/news/dingoo/ . And Im currently doing a new localpack, but it will take some days. And I will only include games, which are well playable on the dingoo. You can also get chris localpack 0.33c which is bit newer than toddlers pack.

Thanks for the 0.34 pack toddler.

toddler didn't die!

Thanks Toddler, i lost track of releases over the holidays. The local packs are a good way to catch up.
Could you describe which rootfs and zimage this pack uses? I've been using Eltas rootfs but i can't get any zimage to work other than the one from your 0.33 localpack
Update:
On a fresh format this pack works great, including power down, the errors i noticed in my few minutes of testing (which i'm not sure whether they are system or port problems):
- i get a few seg faults on exit on some games such as quakeux (which coincidentally, does anyone actually see the gun in quakeux? I don't see a gun, i can shoot but no visual)
- nickyboum plays in a window in the upper right corner
- rotategux freezes every time i rotate
- i haven't tested any emulators yet
- giana's return is too addictive
-
Thanks for 0.34! I haven't used my Dingoo for awhile, and finally upgraded from 0.29 during the holiday break. Glad to see the Power Off feature included. However, one utility that seems to be missing is the volset controls, and I noticed that they were commented out/missing from certain scripts. Just wondering if they are obsolete, and/or if there is a better way for controlling volumes on Dingux reboot? I tried to search the boards and google, but only came across the old posts on volset.

thanks for the pack
It is really nice after I got the unauthorized screen on my dingoo and Dingux was the alternative. Love the psx emulator

@glee
You can set the volume by pressing L or R button. Havent tested it one toddlers new pack, but I think it should work.

The light function in the drop down menu seems busted , but Y and X works to change the light with.

Just read the README files inside the mentioned games' folders. Or search the forum, it has been explained a couple of times already.

You can look at my thread. There is a short description next to each game:
http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-games-and-homebrew/creating-a-new-local-pack/
But duke and shadow warrior need the fullversion and doesnt run with shareware files! ;)
And here is a shareware wad package with most files you will need.

well that's an informative bug report, in a completely related thread, providing more information that's needed to fix it
