@zear  Are cbn files supposed to work better than bin files?  Because I'm getting bins to work better/faster than cbn.
At first I thought so. But it seems to be valid only for certain games (Ridge Racer). I'm even starting to think there's no effect at all ;)

They also don't seem to be compressing much more no matter what number I use for compression.
It seems to just remove the 0b sectors from the images.

BTW, Suar23 in his yt video suggested that setting "NULL GPU" to ON, and "Cycle Multiplier" to 7 gives the best results.
And I must confirm that. I'm getting an impressive performance increase for some games.
Twisted Metal 2, for example, jumped from 40 to 61-67fps. That's over fullspeed!
GTA and Ridge Racer, on the other hand, don't seem to have any speed increase.

Edit:
Just look at this:

Check this video I tried to do lol - poor quality but - you can see how well Exhumed runs on psx4all up to 69fps,
I dont show it on the video because of the poor qaulity of the video you cant see it - need to do a better one at some point, Settings for Exhumed was - Null gpu on and cycle Multiplier 7 + over clocked to 430mhz

Thanks! Where does one get those bios files? Or are they created automatically if you start a game? If I'm not mistaken, some games contain their own bios is it not?

[edit] P.S. Are those files called "mcd001.mcr" files that appear in the Psx4All folder the bios images?

i was thinking...

is this emulator on it's top performance or can it be further optimized to run games smoother?

i've read somethiong about misalignment on the forum...

http://boards.dingoonity.org/index.php/topic,56.0.html

i'm a dreamer... and maybe a jerk, but i belive the good can get even better with the linux demigods that inhabit this forum verifying every bit of info on the emulator

How do you get this working? I have follwed this thread which is now closed  :(

I don't know what the Bios part is or where you get it.

When I select psx4all in Dingux it just kicks me back to dmenu.

The thread you mention should be enough. However, I cannot tell you where to get the bios or CD images to play the games. That's illegal. ;) On the other hand, a lot of games play fairly good without an original bios image (the emulator has some sort of bios itself). The biggest problem, in my honest opinion, is where to get some working game cd images. I found a lot, however, a lot of those images may be badly copied, or copied w/ strange cd-copy applications (like CloneCD and Alcohol120%). Another thing that complicates matters w/ the PSX emulator is the fact that the combination of bios and emu settings is quite crucial for certain games. Other emulators and game images do not have that much of a problem: allmost al of them work.

All in all I have a lot of problems getting psx games to work because of all the possible bios, setting and image combinations. The only two successes I've had so far are: 'Side by Side' and 'Twisted Metal'. Which is a sad result for the two days I spent downloading images and biosses.... Bouhou... But 'Side By Side' is such a nice racing game that I don't regret the effort.
