Hi everyone,

I'm new to Dingux and I really would like to get psx4all running. Could someone either post a tutorial on how to compile it for Dingux or post a precompiled version?

Thanks in advance.

@uli  -- Thank you so much for getting this working!  I didn't think it was possible, you're the man!

I've been playing Twisted Metal and it works great when overclocked/ no sound.  I was wondering if in the future you might incorporate button switching to be able to use the functions of the L2 and R2 buttons.  It works great as is and is pretty reconfigurable within the games.  But I was just wondering if you had thought about how to do that.  I didn't want to post that in the bugfixes since it isn't a bug but more of a modification.

Thanks again

This project looks really promising and this is the whole reason why i wanted a dingoo in the first place. I got the files for PSX4ALL, I'm running Ubuntu and I just wondered how to use the cbin.linux file? I click on it and nothing happens, I drag it into the terminal and it explains what it is. I can't find any support for .linux files on the internet any where. Please help.

you execute it with the following parameters:
Code: [Select]
cbin.linux X game.iso game.cbnwhere X is the compression level, from 1 to 9

I converted a psx bin to cbin using the windows cmd line program and placed the converted cbin in the psx4all directory on my memory card.
When i run psx4all it cannot see the cbin file?, i can see and load the bios file.
Any pointers

Thanks

I saw this too.  He is acting like this is his project but seems to have no connection to uli or the original coders.  And he didn't post anything about this release until days after it came out.  That guy needs to be shut down for trying to take donations for something he didn't do.

Can someone provide a quick guide on how to convert .img to .bin? All the games I ripped are in .img format and I'm wanting to convert them to .cbin for the emulator.

You can convert .img, .bin and whatever else uncompressed to .cbin

@zear  Are cbn files supposed to work better than bin files?  Because I'm getting bins to work better/faster than cbn.  They also don't seem to be compressing much more no matter what number I use for compression.  So a 700Mb bin file is compressing to around 600Mb cbn whether it is set to 5 or to 9.  I'm converting bin to cbn so I don't know if it works better from iso.  I would think they're the same.

it's impressive that this was released so fast with such decent performance. I hope to see more releases in the future

Couldn't agree more. I know nothing about programming, but if there is something I can do to help, count on me.

Thanks. I was able to figure out how to convert it to cbin (with a little searching around). It would be a good idea to include instructions on how to use the cbin converter for Windows, for those who aren't too computer savvy.

Also, what, in your opinion, is the best level of compression for converting games to cbin? Is there any performance problems when going with maximum compression (Level 9)?

Level 9 works fine, but I wouldn't recommend compressing with it. Takes a long time to finish, and some games just can't be compressed any further. Try Level 3 or 5.
