Newbie Help - How to install Dingux [SOLVED]

I've got my dingoo about a week and I'm trying to get Dingux on it.
I've done the Complete Idiot's Guide to make it dual boot and I got the Dingux logo freeze.
I've searched about it in this board and I've done everything but still no success (copy files, JKDrefrag, etc).
As I don't know what else to keep it running, I ask you what local pack is better to use (I was trying local10.zip) and if everytime I put local pack in my SD card I must reflash dingoo?
Please notice I've got a 9325 lcd and when I connect my dingoo via USB my pc recognizes the existing SD card (1GB for testing).

Please don't use those local packs. They are obsolette. Try minimal local pack: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4BNRLQ4U

I only need to format my SD and put this files on it or do I must reflash my dingoo?

Finally I've done it!
How I (think) I've solved my issue:

1 - Downloaded and unrar this one: Dingux Dual Boot 20110420

2 - Downloaded and run this one: Automated Dingoo Dualboot Flasher (edited and ILI9338 ready)

3 - Downloaded an unrar into SD card this one:

Dingux Filesystem and GMENU2X setup pack (NO ILI9338 A320!!!)

or

Dingux Kernel & Rootfs for ILI9338

4 - Read README.txt files (with short text). It will help a lot.


I don't know what I've done wrong but apparently my problem was with the dual boot installation and not with the SD card because when I tried the Automated file Dingux started automatically.

My tip to newbies like me is to use Automated Dual Boot to avoid problems.

Thanks to all the people who tried to helped me! ;)


EDIT: Added filesystem for ILI9338

You can view all files clicking here.
You can see in that page my dualboot file is good for you so the steps are the same.

Is this Dingux version for the Dingoo's w/ a 3998 LCD screens fully compatible w/ 'ye ol Dingux that was developed for the 9325 and 9331 LCD screens of yesteryear?

Because I read somewhere that the 3998 Dingux version was actually based on OpenDingux and that one does not have SiENcE's optimalisations for TV out, overclocking etc.

I can't confirm you that.
I posted Booboo files and adapted Auto DDF.
I guess Booboo files are OK because nobody told it isn't.
Try it and post here the results.
I edited this post trying to help DL95 and I got no feedback.
Perhaps you can give me that.
The process is the same as to other screens. I made this for my ILI9325 and I'm using it.

That 9338 Dingux is a slightly modified version of the original, obsolete kernel from booboo.
It has nothing to do with OpenDingux, which also works with 9338 screens, and has a lot of improvements compared to actual kernels.

Thank you for your clarification. In my opinion this means that a Dingoo w/ a 3998 screen cannot run a full blown Dingux.

[off topic] That worries me: how does one know on beforehand which one gets fronm a seller?

I guess it's like lottery.

I purchased a Dingoo about a month ago and lucky me, I got an ILI9325.
Even so I was affraid I got a fake Dingoo but it passed NEO GEO test.  :P

EDIT: Added filesystem for ILI9338

When I try to run the automated dual boot, it says:

[ERR] Device not found.
[ERR] Ensure your device is in USB mode and run usbtool again.


I'm sure (I think) it is in USB mode, so I'm not sure what the problem is. 




edit:

I ended up just not using the automated dual boot.. I was able to do the dual boot fine, and I put the two files (and the a local pack) on to my sd card.. but when I try to boot in to dingux, the linux screen flashes.

Any suggestions?
