How to play C16 plus 4 games in Vice please?

Someone told me this week that I could play Commodore C16 plus 4 games on the C64 emulator Vice in Dingux.  But can anyone shed any light on how?

I've put a few C64 games in the snapshot folder and managed to get them to load, but when I put C16 or Plus 4 games in there they wont load.

I've been using PRG format files.

Any ideas?

Well, the executable for Vic-20 is xvic.dge and for c16+4 xplus4.dge. Don?t know about prg files though, guess that are programs, like on the AtariST emulator (there you have to insert prg files into a folder and make this folder to a virtual hard disk, dunno if it?s similar vith Vice)?

hmmm.... I can see the x64.dge but not the one for the vic 20 or Plus 4?....so is the dingux version of Vice not able to play anything other than C64 games?

That is weird, because i have these files on my Dingoo. I just redownloaded thepackage, and the files are in there too:

hmmm thanks, I'm still getting nowhere with this. I've copied the xplus4.dge and the other file thats called xplus4 into the vice folder, do i need to do anything else.

My version of dingux was a copy of someone else SD card posted on the old forum,  so the emus are as he had them, hence the missing files.

I've tried taking that version of vice out completely and just popping this one in, but when i select it from the dmenu the screen goes black then goes straight back to the dmenu.

you have to make a dmenu entry, edit the dmenu.cfg or theme.cfg (depends on your dmenu version) with notepad++ (not normal notepad!!), copy the vice entry and edit it, so the executable is xvic20.dge or xplus4.dge.
Dmenu has to know where the files are or it will go blackscreen.  ;)

Here are my entries, edit them, so the paths meet your Dingoo:
MenuItem VicePlus4
{
Icon = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo/commodore.png"
Name = " Plus4"
Executable = "./xplus4.dge"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/vice"
}

MenuItem ViceVic20
{

Got it working, thanks so much the Plus 4 was my first computer back in 1985 so it holds a lot of memories. I'm chuffed to bits to see it working on the Dingoo. What a wonderful machine.
