How Can I get the 'Unreal Spectrum' emulator to work?
« on: July 14, 2010, 06:34:37 pm »
hi, there is a zx spectrum emulator i wanted to try on my dingux, but i cant get it to load (i am using local pack 35, gmenu2x)

here it is:     http://unrealspeccyp.googlecode.com/files/unreal-speccy-portable_0.0.8_dingoo.zip

in the zip file, i am running the 'uspili_9331.app' as instructed in the readme, but the emulator wont load and instead goes back to gmenu. i know there is another spectrum emulator available but i wanted to try this one.

i tried to rename the .app file to .dge but it didnt help

does anyone have any ideas as to why it wont load? or maybe someone else could see if it loads on their dingux system, and if it works for you, maybe tell me how you got it to load please?

This emulator is for the native firmware of the Dingoo and not for Dingux.

And why don't you just use the native firmware?

ok thanks i will try it using the native firmware

ps. i did not have much luck with the regular gp2xpectrum, i noticed the game jet set willy did not run very well until i overclocked to 400mhz.. which seemed a bit 'extreme' for a spectrum emulator

Oh OK, i only tried a few demos, and they ran all fullspeed @ 200 mhz, so i assumed it?d be the same with games...

Then you definitely made something wrong, I tried it myself, GP2x Spectrum starts with a clockspeed of 250 MHz and runs Jet Set Will with 100% at this clockspeed.

unreal-speccy-portable_rev527_dingux - .z80 files plays as great as they should. But i did not get how to launch tape files (.tap .tzx). I`m loading file, then typing "I" on vk, and next i'm in dead end - what exactly i need to type? LOAD"" or LOAD "file name", or load, or something?

AAAAAA!!!!! RAGE11111
Why? why making HELP files like this?! http://code.google.com/p/unrealspeccyp/wiki/readme_dingoo
It is absolutely WRONG. To launch .tzx files no need to start basic in all.
1. Press SELECT to open menu.
2. Choose .tzx
3. Press Start for virtual keyboard.
4. Type U on it to start tape loader.
5. Press Select again and choose Start Tape in menu. Toogle Fast Tape option.
6. Wait for loading.

New problem - i downloaded 3 images: NLO Vrag Neizvesten, UFO 2, Elite 3. All in .TRD format. After selecting any of them in "open file" i got "segmentation error". Is this games are to "heavy" for A-320?
