« on: June 05, 2010, 07:10:47 pm »
Hi, guys. Long time no see, huh? :) Check out my latest hack: http://github.com/uli/dingoo-tvout

Be sure to read the README. It has a couple of problems, but mostly works for me.

Have fun.

Is there a risk when trying it?

As for CRT TVs, in theory, it could fry it if something goes wrong. You would have to leave it plugged in for quite a while though. Just unplug if your TV starts squeaking, and you should be safe. :) My set (15-year-old Sony Trinitron) has suffered a lot of abuse during development and is still fine. LCD TVs are generally said to be unimpressed by strange input signals.

My dingoo gets stuck at the dingux screen with the zImage provided.

Edit: Thanks xdpirate! It worked perfectly and so does tv-out.

Try reformatting and copy from pc to sd in this order:
zImage > rootfs > local (with contents)

Tried it and it works, the menu and everything has to be set at 336mhz. Tried Vice, snes(menu is garbled) and Final Burn all with success.

Hey Uli such a great job you did man. After the advent of linux, this is probably the most important event ever. If BooBoo is still alive he must be really proud of you.  :D
Just a curious question: Do you think in the future would be possible to use tv-out with overclock or is there some kind of technical difficulty that wouldn't allow it?
