yeah but i don't see how i can do that
unless using some scripting language and i'm not going to go that route
i basically have X,Y, Angle, Speed as variables to play with for the enemy movement, but i can't load patterns from a file either since that will be done in the level editor. (you will have to place an enemy ship on a virtual map position (see it like a viewport) and define initial speed, angle and movement type.
One could probably go as far as add some ai concepts to merge diffrent behaviours but i'm not up for that yet :p (like flocking etc)
